Umude announces transfer from USD men's basketball team
VERMILLION—On Thursday, University of South Dakota men's basketball player Stanley Umude announced his intentions to transfer from the program.
"I would like to thank the University of South Dakota for providing me with the opportunity to play the sport I love for the past two years and the fans who have supported us through it all," Umude tweeted. "This has been one of the toughest decisions of my life, but after a lot of discussions with my family and close friends, I've made the decision to add my name to the NCAA transfer portal and re-open my recruitment."
A 6-foot-6 sophomore guard, Umude led the Coyotes in scoring (14.4) and was second in rebounds (5.5) last season. He also hit 26 3-pointers and blocked a team-high 37 shots. Umude was an all-Summit League selection for the 13-17 Coyotes.
