Tea Area all-state boys basketball player Noah Freidel tweeted his intentions to play for the South Dakota State University on Thursday.
Freidel signed a national letter of intent with former SDSU coach Scott Nagy and Wright State University (Ohio) during the fall. On Thursday, Freidel tweeted he asked for his release from Wright State and said he wanted to play closer to home.
The 6-foot-4 guard/forward helped the Titans win two of the past three State A boys basketball championships. This past season, Freidel was named the Class A player of the year after averaging 23.2 points and 8.2 rebounds per game.
Freidel's father, Pat, is a former Armour all-state boys basketball player and later starred at Augustana University.
