Hanson Classic roundup: Parker holds off Rapid City Christian

Clark/Willow Lake 62, Timber Lake 41

A 21-5 second quarter by Clark/Willow Lake lifted the Cyclones to a boys basketball win over Timber Lake on Saturday at the Hanson Classic.

Jacob Prouty and Stone Burke both netted 21 points in the win. Burke added 11 boards and Prouty dished out six assists. Micah Burke finished with 15 points and 13 boards. CWL finished with 35 rebounds, compared to Timber Lake’s 26.

Isaac Kraft finished with 15 points. Tucker Kraft added 10 points and six rebounds. Brayden PayPay scored seven.

Viborg-Hurley 71, Aberdeen Christian 60

Three players scored in double figures to lead Viborg-Hurley to a boys basketball victory over Aberdeen Christian on Saturday at the Hanson Classic.

Brodee Sherman led the Cougars with 26 points and five assists. Shane Anderson chipped in with 14 points, while Chase Mason finished with 26 points and five assists.

Jackson Becker led Christian with 22 points and eight rebounds. He also scored his 1,000th career point. Andrew Rohrbach and Nehemiah Becker both scored 11 points apiece.

Aberdeen Roncalli 82, Sioux Valley 81

Max Reede nailed two free throws with nine seconds left to propel Aberdeen Roncalli to a boys basketball win over Sioux Valley at the Hanson Classic on Saturday.

Reeded finished with 18 points, while Brady Morgan tossed in 19 points. Grayden Imbery finished with 16 points. Salesi Mounga and Isaac VanOrman both scored 10 apiece. The Cavaliers collected 24 rebounds, compared to 18 boards by Sioux Valley.

Max Nielson netted a game-high 34 points for the Cossacks. Ryan Schuster tossed in 22 points and Oliver Vincent scored 12 points.

Parker 69, Rapid City Christian 59

Three players scored in double figures to power Parker to a boys basketball win over Rapid City Christian at the Hanson Classic on Saturday.

Camden Bialas led the Pheasants with 22 points and seven rebounds. Trey Christensen finished with 16 points and five boards. Jackson Fiegen added 10 points and six rebounds.

Sam Schlabach led the Comets with 17 points and seven rebounds. Levi Vanden Bos chipped in with 16 points and David Schmagel added nine points.

Irene-Wakonda 57, Castlewood 55

Trey King converted a 3-point play with 12 seconds left propelled Irene-Wakonda to a boys basketball win over Castlewood at the Hanson Classic on Saturday.

King finished with 28 points, five rebounds and five steals. He nailed three 3-pointers. Levi Larson added 12 points, while Jacob Jensen had 10 points and went 5 of 5 from the field.

Kaden Eng led the Warriors with 21 points and nine boards, while Garrett Kerkvliet had 11 points and five rebounds. Brandon Benike registered nine points, 16 rebounds and six assists.

Flandreau 53, Leola-Frederick 45

Connor LeBrun tossed in 26 points to power Flandreau to a boys basketball win over Leola-Frederick at the Hanson Classic on Saturday.

LeBrun also recorded six rebounds and also hit three 3-pointers. Tash Lunday logged 16 points and 17 rebounds for the Fliers.

Isaac Sumption led the Titans with 16 points and Haydn Podoll added nine points.
