Area basketball roundup: WiLdKat boys fend off Corsica-Stickney

WHITE LAKE—Kimball/White Lake held off Corsica-Stickney, 65-57, in boys basketball action Friday.

Kimball/White Lake (6-2): Kordel Kiehn racked up 18 points and 14 rebounds for a double-double, while Justin Becker totaled 17 points and eight rebounds. Javen Holan tallied 12 points and Carter Fredericksen tossed in five assists. The WiLdKats play Canton on Monday at the Corn Palace.

Corsica-Stickney (6-1): Cooper DeLange led the Jaguars with 17 points, while Trever Burke grabbed 13 points and seven rebounds. Blake Moke finished with 11 points and eight rebounds. The Jaguars play Andes Central/Dakota Christian on Tuesday in New Holland.

Platte-Geddes (3-2): Starr and Foxley notched 15 points apiece, while Starr added eight rebounds. Weston VanderPol finished with nine points, and Kelby VanDerWerff tossed in eight points and seven boards. The Black Panthers play Dakota Valley today in North Sioux City.
