Sarah Carr's breakout junior season continued last week with a pair of big games, resulting in her being named the Great Plains Athletic Conference's women's basketball player of the week.

The No. 1 Dakota Wesleyan University women's basketball team took down then-No. 8 Morningside College 91-67 on Jan. 2 and College of St. Mary (Neb.) 84-55 on Saturday, with Carr scoring 51 points in the games. The Tigers are 17-1 overall and 10-1 in GPAC play.

She had 19 points and four rebounds against the Mustangs, while scoring a career-high 32 points on 12-for-18 shooting versus St. Mary, to go along with eight boards.

This season, her 17.4 points per game is second on the team and fifth in the conference, while she's also fifth in field-goal percentage (51.9) and 16th in rebounds per game (5.2). Carr is 12th in NAIA Division II with 313 total points, as well.

The Tigers play Dordt College at 6 p.m. today in Sioux Center, Iowa.
