Canistota-Freeman won Class B VFW 14U state baseball tournament on Sunday in Freeman.

Canistota-Freeman defeated Canova, 14-3, in the championship game. It also defeated Baltic (5-1) and Clark (12-1) en route to the title tilt.

Canova defeated Salem 5-2 and beat Parkston 15-10 to earn their way to championship Sunday. Parkston came in third place in the Class B state tournament by beating Clark 17-6.

The two class state tournaments were held on July 23-25. Class A was held at Prentis Park in Vermillion and Class B was held at Freeman Baseball Field in Freeman.

In the Class A 14U state tournament in Vermillion, Vermillion edged Dakota Valley, 2-1, for the state championship. Winner defeated West Central 3-1 for third place in the Class A state tournament.

Vermillion won all three of its games starting with a 8-7 win over Dell Rapids on Friday. On Saturday, Vermillion defeated West Central 4-3.

Dakota Valley earned a trip to the championship by shutting out Warner-Ipswich-Northwester, 11-0, on Friday and defeating Winner 9-2 on Saturday.
