PARKSTON -- Carter Randall hit a walk-off single in the eighth inning to lift Salem to a 7-6 win over Parkston in the Region 4B tournament on Wednesday.

Avery Feterl finished with three hits and three RBIs, including a two-run single in the fifth for a 6-5 lead. Joe Loudenburg added two hits, while Raygen Randall had a hit and an RBI.

Braeden Kerkhove struck out five batters, allowed six hits, three earned runs and one walked one batter in his 4.1-inning start. Bobby Koepsell pitched three scoreless relief innings to earn the win.

For Parkston, Max Scott posted a team-high three hits and drove in a run. Landon Sudbeck, Logan Heidinger, Brayden Jervik and Caleb Titze each had a hit. Sudbeck’s RBI groundout in the sixth inning knotted the score at 6-6.

Luke Bormann struck out two batters, allowed two hits, one earned runs and walked six batters in his 1.2-inning start. Scott was tagged with the loss after allowing two hits and one earned run in 1/3 of an inning.

Salem plays Tabor at 2 p.m. Friday in Parkston. Parkston plays Mount Vernon/Plankinton/Corsica-Stickney at 5 p.m. Thursday.

Tabor 17, Alexandria 0 (5 innings)

PARKSTON -- Tabor collected 13 hits en route to a Region 4B baseball tournament win over Alexandria on Wednesday.

Preston Nedved and Kaden Kozak had two hits and four RBIs apiece. Riley Rothschadl added two hits, while Kaleb Kubal posted hits and two RBIs. Nolan Carda, Nolan Dvorak, Dustin Honomichl, Dawson Bietz and Carter Uecker each had a hit. Rothschadl earned the win after allowing zero runs, zero hits and had eight strikeouts in his three-inning start. Trent Herrboldt struck out five batters in two scoreless relief innings.

For Alexandria, Kade Waldera had the team’s lone hit. Jayden Kayser took the loss for Alexandria. He allowed six hits, six runs (five earned) and struck out one batter in his 1.2-inning start.

Tabor plays Salem at 2 p.m. Friday in Parkston. Alexandria plays Menno/Scotland at 7 p.m. Thursday.

Gregory County 22, Bennett County 4 (5 innings)

GREGORY -- Gregory County erupted for 11 runs in the first inning en route to an American Legion baseball win over Bennett County on Wednesday.

Rylan Peck paced the offense with three hits and six RBIs. Trey Murray and Bryce Frank posted two hits apiece and each drove in a run. Sawyer Tietgen, Taron Serr, Carsen Klundt and Owen Duffy each had a hit. Tietgen knocked in three runs, while Serr and Duffy each drove in two runs. Hunter Van Nieuwenhuyse had three RBIs.

Brogan Glover struck out four batters, allowed three hits and one earned run in his two-inning start. Gregory County plays Belle Fourche at 6 p.m. Thursday.
