CHAMBERLAIN -- Parkston/Ethan/Tripp scored eight runs in the first inning to put away Chamberlain/Kimball/Lyman 16-4 in high school baseball action Wednesday.
Ty Neugebauer hit an RBI triple on the second at-bat of the game and added a two-run single later in the inning. Jay Storm also had a two-run double in the first frame and drove in three runs in the game.
Brayden Jervik also had two RBIs for PET (6-2), while Max Scott, Luke Bormann and Jon Akre all drove in a run. Storm and Jervik combined to allow one earned run on the mound, surrendering two hits and five walks, while striking out six in five innings.
Cooper Leiferman and Dakota Munger had RBIs for CKL (0-6).
PET hosts Bon Homme/Avon Friday in Parkston. CKL faces St. Thomas More Sunday in Rapid City.

PLATTE -- Kelby VanDerWerff tossed a complete-game shutout, stifling Winner/Colome Tuesday.
VanDerWerff surrendered seven hits and two walks over seven innings, while striking out 11 batters. He also went 1-for-2 at the plate.
The Honkers scored three runs in the first inning, with the first coming on an RBI single by Caden Foxley. Nate Whalen also drove in a run, while Kane Knudson went 2-for-2 and Aiden Bultje scored three runs.
Charley Pravecek went 2-for-3, while Eathan Bartels allowed two earned runs on seven hits and one walk, striking out five over five innings as the Royals committed six errors in the game.
PGDCWLCS (4-1) hosts Hot Springs Saturday in Platte. Winner/Colome (4-3) plays Gregory County Sunday in Gregory.
