The Dakota Wesleyan University baseball team fell in a doubleheader to Great Plains Athletic Conference foe Northwestern College on Thursday at Cadwell Park. The Tigers 13-8 and 13-4 in the twin bill.

In Game 1, the Tigers rallied to knot the score at 6-6. However, Northwestern tacked on five runs in the top of the sixth frame to put the game out of reach.

Dalton Wilcoxen went 3-for-4 with three RBIs and a home run, while Luke LeMay finished 2-for-4 with a pair of runs batted in with a run scored. Ethan Davis started the game and pitched five innings as he struck out six batters.

In Game 2, Seth Christiansen (Victor, Idaho) hit a solo home run to give DWU a 2-0 lead in the second inning. However, the Raiders scored 13 runs over the next five innings to take a 13-2 lead. DWU’s Drew DeMers added a two-run homer in the sixth frame.

DeMers finished 1-for-3 with two RBIs and a home run, while Christiansen went 1-for-3 with an RBI and a home run. Patrick Starr pitched four innings and struck out two batters.

DWU and Northwestern play in a 1 p.m. doubleheader Saturday in Orange City, Iowa.
