ALEXANDRIA -- Tabor’s strong day at the plate guided it to an 11-9 win over Alexandria in the Region 3B Legion baseball tournament on Thursday.

Tabor finished with nine hits and scored multiple runs in each of the first four innings. Preston Nedved paced it at the plate by going 2-for-4 with a home run and four RBIs. Jordan Gall and Kaleb Kubal each doubled, while Gall and Trent Herrboldt both had two hits. Zach Cuka earned the win, allowing eight runs (six earned) and striking out six over a five-inning start. Nate Scieszinski tossed two one-run innings.

Peyton Schroeder and Rylee Deinert each had two hits for Alexandria. Deinert drove in two runs and Schroeder hit a double. Joey Feiner tripled in the loss. Daniel Laufman gave up five earned runs in 1.2 innings. Reggie Slaba struck out five batters, but allowed six runs (two earned) in 4.1 relief frames.

The Class B state tournament is Aug. 7-9 in Bryant.

Wednesday’s games

Winner/Colome 3, McCook/Miner 2

ALEXANDRIA -- Joey Cole scored on a sacrifice fly in the seventh inning, giving Winner/Colome a 3-2 win over McCook/Miner on Wednesday during the Region 3B Legion baseball tournament.

Winner/Colome erased a 2-1 deficit by scoring a run in each the sixth and seventh innings. Philip Jorgensen, Charlie Pravacek and Aaron Gilchrist all had two hits. Cole triples and Aiden Barfuss hit a double in the win. Joren Bruun picked up the win, striking out six batters and holding McCook/Miner to two unearned runs in a six-inning start. Jacob Beckers’ perfect seventh inning earned him the save.

Isaac Feldahus hit a triple, as McCook/Miner finished with five hits. Kieffer Klinkhammer suffered the loss in relief. Colton Spader gave up three runs (two earned) in 6.1 innings.

Alexandria 6, Winner/Colome 4

ALEXANDRIA -- Alexandria scored three runs in the top of the seventh inning to take down Winner/Colome in Region 3B Legion baseball action and earn a Class B state tournament berth on Wednesday.

Joey Feiner finished 3-for-5, while Casey Haynes and Ben Laufman each added two hits for Alexandria. It had a 12-8 advantage in the hit column as a team. Haynes also picked up the win by striking out three batters over seven innings.

Evan Farner suffered the loss, allowing four runs (three earned) in 4.1 relief innings. Joren Bruun and Aiden Barfuss both tripled and finished with three hits each.
