TYNDALL-Mace Merkwan's home run highlighted Tabor Post 183's four-run sixth inning, which sent it past Alexandria Post 41, 7-3, on Monday.
Christian Uecker also hit an RBI triple in the sixth. Merkwan went 2-for-3 with four RBIs, while Beau Rothschadl added a pair of hits. Tabor had six extra-base hits as a team. Merkwan also earned the win on the mound as he struck out seven batters. He allowed an earned run on two hits.
Carter Dye had two of Alexandria's six hits. Despite striking out eight batters in a complete-game effort, Reggie Slaba took the loss. He allowed seven runs (five earned) on eight hits.
Tabor (5-5) plays Crofton on Wednesday in Tyndall. Alexandria (1-6) hosts a doubleheader against Humboldt/Hartford on Wednesday.
McCook/Miner 2, Chamberlain 0
SALEM-Mitch Kramer tossed a complete-game shutout to help McCook Miner Post 61 defeat Chamberlain Post 3 on Monday.
Kramer struck out 11 batters, allowing two hits and two walks on 94 pitches in his shutout. He was helped by Sam Gillespie hitting a triple and Isaac Feldhaus recording an RBI double.
For Chamberlain (2-8), Remington Rossow and Carter Collins each had a hit. Caden Lenz struck out six over six innings but took the loss. He gave up two earned runs.
McCook/Miner (5-2) plays Garretson on Wednesday in Salem.
