Area Legion roundup: Winner/Colome holds off Chamberlain in Legion action

WINNER—Winner/Colome scored three runs in the first inning and earned a Legion baseball win over Chamberlain 6-2 on Wednesday.

Jackson Kinzer and Oscar Pravecek each hit RBI doubles, while Pravecek later scored from third base on a passed ball for the 3-0 advantage in the first frame. Winner/Colome's Carter Brickman then kept Chamberlain's bats at bay.

Brickman lasted six innings, allowing six hits and two runs while striking out seven. Layton Thieman threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen. Thieman recorded the last three outs to earn the save for Winner/Colome.

Pravecek finished with three hits, including two doubles. Joren Bruun, Phillip Jorgensen and Colby Kaiser each had a hit.

For Chamberlain, Remington Rossow hit a solo home run in the sixth inning. Chamberlain finished with six hits. Riggs Priebe and Max Donovan each had two hits. Javen Holan added a hit.

Cole Hickey took the loss for Chamberlain. He surrendered six runs on eight hits over six innings, striking out four and walking zero.
