Less than a week after Mitchell Gold squared off with Watertown, the two teams reconvened for another teener baseball doubleheader on Wednesday at Drake Field.

Mitchell used a big second inning to grab the lead in Game 1 and cruise to a 16-5 win. Then, in the second game, Mitchell got a five-inning no-hitter from Jace Larson to earn the sweep with a 10-0 win.

After falling behind early, Mitchell rallied for 13 unanswered runs on 17 hits in Game 1. Brock Sparks went 2-for-3 with four RBIs, while Mason Geraets was 3-for-4 with three RBIs and Brandon Sparks was 3-for-4 with two RBIs. Anders Enga went 3-for-3 and drove in a pair of runs, while Jackson Ebert collected two hits and two RBIs.

Larson didn't allow any need for a comeback in Game 2 as he was nearly perfect all game. The Mitchell pitcher struck out seven without allowing a hit or a walk. Only two errors kept him from a perfect game.

Meanwhile, the offense aided Larson as Brandon Sparks gave Mitchell a 1-0 lead by scoring on a passed ball in the first inning and Brock Sparks ignited an offensive outburst in the second inning with an RBI single. Another run scored on a wild pitch and Ebert clubbed a two-run single to cap the first of two four-run frames.

Brandon Sparks drove in a run on a fielder's choice in the third, while Ebert added another RBI single and Landon Waddell drove in a run on a ground ball for a second four-run inning.

Ebert went 2-for-3 with three RBIs, while Seth Muth also went 2-for-3 with an RBI.

Mitchell (4-1-1) hosts a doubleheader against Brookings on Saturday at Drake Field.
