COLTON-Alexandria Post 41 played catchup with Colton Post 206 for most of the night, but ended with the bases loaded and the game-winning run at the plate in the bottom of the seventh.

Colton was able to secure a ground ball and put the game away for an 8-5 win in Legion baseball action.

Austin Stoltz gave Alexandria a 1-0 lead in the second inning on an RBI single, but Colton rebounded with a four-run spurt in the bottom of the frame. The Angels rallied with a bases loaded walk in the fourth, another in the fifth and an RBI single by Carter Dye.

Colton regained the lead once again in the bottom of the fifth and then padded its lead with three in the sixth.

Alexandria scored on another bases loaded walk with one out in the seventh, but a fly out and a ground out ended the comeback attempt.

Stoltz finished 3-for-3 with an RBI, while Blake Klinkhammer, Reggie Slaba and Craig Lasley combined to allow five earned runs on 13 hits.

Alexandria (0-3) travels to Parkston on Sunday.
