NORTH SIOUX CITY-Bon Homme/Scotland's Beau Rothschadl singled in Christian Uecker in the top of the eighth inning, driving home the game-winning run of its 3-2 extra-inning Region 1B championship game win over Dakota Valley.

Rothschadl went 2-for-4, helping Bon Homme/Scotland to five hits as a team. Trent Herrboldt earned the win, striking out seven and allowing two earned runs in 7 2/3 innings. Zach Cuka recorded the final out to earn the save.

Drew Addison suffered the loss, giving up the game-winning run in his 2 1/3 innings. Keaton Hensley lasted 5 2/3 innings in his start for Dakota Valley, striking out six. Dakota Valley recorded seven hits as a team.

The Cavaliers will face Lennox in the first round of the Class B state tournament at 11 a.m. on Monday in Sioux Falls.

Bon Homme/Scotland 6, Beresford 1

NORTH SIOUX CITY-Bon Homme/Scotland scored three runs in each of the first two innings to gain an insurmountable lead in the Region 1B semifinals on Monday to clinch a state tournament bid.

Uecker went 2-for-3 with two RBIs for Bon Homme/Scotland, which had seven hits as a team. Josh Schmidt had two hits, as well. On the mound, Uecker struck out nine over six one-run innings. Cuka pitched a scoreless inning to close the game.

Eli Skoglund suffered the loss, allowing six earned runs in his six-inning start. Jack Bickett and Tyler Kropuenske accounted for Beresford's only hits.

Dakota Valley 10, Hanson/Bridgewater-Emery/Mount Vernon/Plankinton/Corsica 0

NORTH SIOUX CITY-Dakota Valley held Hanson/Bridgewater-Emery/Mount Vernon/Plankinton to one hit in the Region 1B semifinals on Monday and clinched a state tournament bid in the process.

Nathan Rice struck out 10 in a complete-game effort for Dakota Valley. Eric Johnson went 3-for-3 with an RBI, helping his team to 11 hits. Brenden Klasi and Samuel Otten both had two hits, as well.

Hunter Pranger had the Ducks' lone hit, while also allowing three runs (two earned) in 1 1/3 innings. Craig Lasley struck out three and conceded seven runs (four earned) in his four-inning start.
