Six-run inning powers Raptors past Cubs
EMERY—Dimock/Emery scored nine runs between the fifth and sixth innings to secure a 13-8 win over Salem on Wednesday in amateur baseball action.
Phil Johnson went 3-for-4 with five RBIs for the Raptors, while Jared Schmidt added two hits and two RBIs. As a team, the Raptors racked up nine hits. Johnson also had a five-inning start, striking out six and allowing four runs (three earned) on six hits. Ben Wermers allowed four runs (two earned) in four innings.
For the Cubs, Brian Duxbury went 2-for-3 with four RBIs. Anthony Tuschen added a pair of hits, too. Dave Novak allowed two earned runs in his four-inning start, while also striking out four batters.
The Raptors (3-0) play Corsica/Stickney on Sunday in Corsica. The Cubs (0-2) play at Flandreau on Sunday.
