WINNER-After Chamberlain/Kimball/Lyman tied the game in the top of the sixth inning in a Region 4 contest, Layton Thieman drove in Jackson Kinzer with a ground ball to score the eventual game-winning run for Winner/Colome in a 2-1 win.
Caden Lenz plated Ty Namanny on a ground out in the top of the sixth to score the first run since Oscar Pravecek's two-out RBI single gave the Royals a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first.
Neither pitcher gave much ground throughout the game, with Kinzer earning the win for Winner/Colome after allowing one run on three hits in seven innings, while striking out seven. Cole Hickey took the loss for C/K/L despite only surrendering one earned run on four hits in six innings.
Wagner/Avon/Lake Andes blanks Parker
TYNDALL-Wagner/Avon/Lake Andes exploded for six runs in the third inning and cruised to an 11-0 high school win over Turner-Hutch on Monday. The game was called after five innings.
Tate Wynia earned the win after striking out four batters and allowing one hit in the shutout. He received plenty of run support as WALA finished with eight hits and took advantage of five Turner-Hutch errors.
Chance Blaha powered the offense with three hits and two home runs, including a three-run blast in the third inning. He finished with four RBIs.
Wynia added two hits, while Logan Schuurmans, Preston Nedved and Tony Bruguier each added a hit.
Blackhawks top Elkton
WESSINGTON SPRINGS-Woonsocket/Wessington Springs/Sanborn Central used a pair of big innings to defeat Elkton 7-1 in high school baseball action on Monday.
The Blackhawks scored three runs in the first inning and two more in the fourth frame. Cooper Hainy knocked in two runs in the win, while Tyler Fastnacht and Sawyer Senska each had an RBI.
Cayden Slykhuis earned the win after scattering six hits, striking out three batters and allowing one earned run in 5.2 innings.
Dylan Schimke, Noah Hainy and Coen Harvey each had a hit for the Blackhawks.
