BRANDON -- Mitchell White used a five-run third inning to pull away from Brandon Valley in Game 1 of a teener baseball doubleheader on Thursday, but Brandon Valley returned the favor in Game 2.
Mitchell was able to take Game 1, 11-4, but Brandon Valley was able to rebound for a 6-3 win in the second game.
Leading 5-2 going into the third inning, Mitchell used five walks and RBIs from Colin Stange and Landen Soulek to pull away for good.
Karter Sibson pitched 4 2/3 innings, giving up two earned runs on five hits and three walks to pick up the win for Mitchell.
Brandon Valley bounced back in Game 2, scoring three runs in the first inning and tacking on runs in the second and third inning for the win.
Soulek had two RBIs and Sibson drove in another. Lincoln Bates and Soulek combined to allow three earned runs on four hits in 4 2/3 innings of work.
Mitchell (10-17-1) hosts Yankton in a doubleheader at 4 p.m. on Monday at Drake Field.
