Balanced attack guides DWU women past Saints

SIOUX FALLS -- DWU shot 52.1 percent from the field and saw four players score in double figures during a 90-49 win over Presentation College on Sunday at the Sanford Pentagon.

Using 60 percent shooting, DWU jumped out to a 50-20 lead at halftime over the Saints. Another 25-point frame in the fourth quarter capped a strong offensive performance from the Tigers.

Matti Reiner paced DWU with a team-high 12 points on 5-for-8 shooting. Jada Campbell, who transferred from Presentation before the season, had an 11-point, seven-rebound performance, while Haidyn Pitsch (11) and Rynn Osthus (10) both reached double figures, as well.

Defensively, DWU held Presentation to 25.9 percent shooting and forced 22 turnovers. Kaylee Kirk finished with four steals and Pitsch recorded three steals in the win. Aaliyah Hull and Jordan Kulczyk each had 12 points as the Saints’ only double-digit scorers.

DWU (2-0) hosts Briar Cliff (Iowa) at 6 p.m. Wednesday at the Corn Palace.
