SALEM -- Winner Area fell 12.5 points shy of taking down Canton to win the McCook Central/Montrose Invitational on Saturday.
Five Warriors earned first-place finishes, while two more took second. Maxton Brozik (106), Karsen Keiser (113), Kaden Keiser (145), Riley Orel (152) and Sam Kruger (170) were all crowned champions, while Preston Norrid (220) and Achilles Willuweit (285) took second.
Kaden Keiser won all three of his matches by technical fall, while Kruger had a pin and a technical fall. Brozik defeated Philip Area’s Kipp Cordes 9-7 in overtime.
MCM took fourth with 156 points as Jackson Remmers defeated Canton’s Andy Meyer -- last year’s Class B 113-pound champion -- in a 6-3 decision in the 132-pound finals. Jacobi Krouse took second at 182, falling to Canton’s Tanner Meyers in a 7-4 decision.
Burke/Gregory was fifth with 139 points as Owen Hansen (126), Jordan Vosika (145) and Tucker Even (170) were runner-ups.

Chamberlain captures Webster invite
WEBSTER -- Chamberlain racked up 183.5 points to cruise to a win at the Webster Invitational on Saturday.
Dominic Santiago (126), Thomas Powell (138), Gabe Skustad (145), Noah Hutmacher (195), Gunner Ristau (220) and Jackson Soulek (285) all took home first-place finishes.
Santiago had a fall and a technical fall before beating Sisseton’s Boe Iverson in the finals, 8-1. Powell earned a pair of pins, including a fall in 5 minutes, 49 seconds against Miller/Highmore/Harrold’s Gunner Brueggeman in the finals. Skustad had two pins, before beating Mobridge-Pollock’s Kamron Pearman via a 10-1 major decision. Hutmacher and Ristau each had two first-round pins, while Soulek pinned all three of his opponents on the day.
BHSA takes second at MVPCS duals
MOUNT VERNON -- Bon Homme/Scotland/Avon went 2-1 at the Mount Vernon/Plankinton/Corsica-Stickney duals on Saturday, taking second to Redfield Area’s 3-0 mark.
BHSA defeated MVPCS 36-25 and Parker 59-12 before falling to Redfield Area 47-21. Jordan Gall won all three of his matches at 195 pounds, scoring two first-round pins and a decision. Isaac Crownover had a 45-second pin at 160 against Parker and a 6-4 decision at 170 over Redfield’s Cullen McNeil.
MVPCS dropped all three of its duals, falling to Parker 42-32 and Redfield 69-6. Griffin Tobin went unbeaten at 132, winning a 3-2 decision against BHSA and a 51-second fall against Parker. Reece Risseuw (182), Cole Pranger (220), Drew Gerlach (145) and Mason Bosworth (106) all went 2-1.
