Area wrestling roundup: Parkston takes down Burke/Gregory

PARKSTON -- Parkston notched a home dual win over Gregory, 45-34, on Tuesday.

Parkston’s Logan Heidinger, Gavin Braun, Wyatt Anderson, Carter Sommer and Porter Neugebauer all picked up a win. The Trojans also saw Landon Sudbeck, Lane Johnson and Noah Mahoney earn a victory on Monday.

For Burke/Gregory, Taron Serr, Rhoss Oliver, Owen Hansen, Jordan Vosika, Mason Hood and Tucker Even all earn a win.

KWLPG 37, Chamberlain 24

CHAMBERLAIN -- Kimball/White Lake/Platte-Geddes won five of the last seven matches and defeated Chamberlain in dual wrestling action on Tuesday.

KWLPG picked up wins from Johnny Lenz (106 pounds), Iden Myers (120), Chase Varilek (132), Carter Lenz (138), Grayson Hanson (152), Holden Havlik (160), Jayden Kahler (170), Spencer Hanson (182) and Levi Nightingale (195) all picked up wins.

Chamberlain’s Sutton Powers (113), Dominic Santiago (126), Gabe Skustad (145) and Jackson Soulek (285) each earned victories. Chamberlain’s Gunner Ristau picked up a win via forfeit.

ACDC falls to Viborg-Hurley at Nebraska triangular

NIOBRARA, Neb. -- Andes Central/Dakota Christian dropped a match and tied in another one at the Niobrara-Verdigre (Neb.) Triangular on Tuesday. ACDC fell to Viborg-Hurley (24-12) and tied with Niobrara-Verdigre (12-12).

Against Viborg-Hurley, Mason Stone (220 pounds) pinned Jacob Johnson (2:25) for ACDC’s lone contested win. Apollo Weddell won a match via forfeit.

Against Niobrara-Verdigre, there were 10 double forfeits. Stone and Carlin Hopkins (132) both picked up forfeit wins.
