Area wrestling roundup: KWLPG picks up a pair of wins at triangular

WHITE LAKE--Kimball/White Lake/Platte-Geddes picked up a pair of wins as host of a triangular on Tuesday. It defeated Wagner (52-23) and Redfield Area (33-25), while Redfield defeated Wagner 48-28.

WHITE LAKE-Kimball/White Lake/Platte-Geddes picked up a pair of wins as host of a triangular on Tuesday. It defeated Wagner (52-23) and Redfield Area (33-25), while Redfield defeated Wagner 48-28.

Both KWLPG and Wagner had a pair of wrestlers pick up two wins. Carter Lenz (113 pounds) and Ty Namanny (152) both had a pin and won via a 7-2 decision for KWLPG. Wagner's KJ St. Pierre (220) had a 12-3 major decision and pin, while Dawson Lensing (285) had pins in 27 and 37 seconds.

For KWLPG, Levi Nightingale (170), Austin Severson (220), Tyler Resick (285), Jayden Kahler (138) and Spencer Hanson (145) all had a pin. Chase Varilek picked up a 4-0 decision at 126 pounds and Wyatt Talbott's (132) win came via a 12-1 major decision.

Jagger Tyler (106), Riley Roberts (113) and Lance Soukup (120) all had wins for Wagner, with Roberts and Soukup's being major decision wins.

BHSA escapes Parkston with win

PARKSTON-Bon Homme/Scotland/Avon's heavyweights came through at the end to help it pick up a 43-30 win over Parkston on Tuesday.

BHSA's Jordan Rueb (132), Stockten Walter (170) and Jordan Gall (220) all pinned their opponent, while Isaac Crownover won an 11-0 major decision and Brady Bierema won a 6-2 decision.

Parkston racked up a trio of pins, with Riley Weber (106), Rocky Berg (138) and Lucas Bietz (160) all recording one. Cordell Murtha (145) and Logan Heidinger (152) both picked up wins via decision for Parkston, too.

Winner sweeps triangular

WINNER-Winner Area High School swept a pair of Nebraska schools in a triangular on Tuesday.

The Warriors took down O'Neill, 66-12, and then beat Valentine, 57-18, improving to 6-0 in dual meets on the season. Against O'Neill, Winner picked up five wins by forfeit and another five by pin and then earned seven pins in the win against Valentine.

Wyatt Turnquist (138 pounds) and Sam Kruger (160) won both of their matches by pin, while Trevor Peters (152) and Landon Debus (182) also had two wins apiece. Kaden Keiser won both of his matches by forfeit and Achilles Willuweit had a win by forfeit and a pin at 285.
