Area volleyball roundup: SCW volleyball team places 3rd at 281 Tournament

FORESTBURG--Sanborn Central/Woonsocket finished in third place at the 281 Conference Tournament on Saturday in Forestburg. The Blackhawks defeated Highmore-Harrold 25-16, 25-23 and 25-13 in the third-place match.

FORESTBURG-Sanborn Central/Woonsocket finished in third place at the 281 Conference Tournament on Saturday in Forestburg. The Blackhawks defeated Highmore-Harrold 25-16, 25-23 and 25-13 in the third-place match.

Tesa Jensen led SCW with eight kills and two blocks. Abby Doering and Erica Howard had six kills apiece. Doering added six aces. Tristan Ziebart dished out 17 assists and had nine digs.

For Highmore-Harrold, Zoe Tvedt had 10 kills.

In their semifinal match, the Blackhawks lost to Hitchcock-Tulare 25-16, 25-19 and 25-21. Doering had 12 kills and two blocks. Jensen added 11 kills and Howard had two aces. Ziebart added 21 assists and 14 digs. Sarah Morgan contributed 13 digs.

For Hitchcock-Tulare, Baylee Enander had 10 kills and 14 digs.

SCW (11-6) will host Sunshine Bible Academy on Tuesday in Forestburg.

Kimball/White Lake 3, Mitchell Christian 0

WHITE LAKE-Kimball/White Lake swept Mitchell Christian 25-11, 25-9 and 25-16 in prep volleyball action on Saturday in White Lake.

Sage Pulse powered KWL with nine kills, 11 digs and two aces. Kennedy Leiferman added five kills, five aces and 13 digs. Heather Munsen notched 21 assists and two aces.

For Mitchell Christian, Maggie Reynen had three kills and nine digs. Erica Thompson recorded five assists and seven digs. Grace Carrels had 13 digs and Charlotte Haag added three kills.

Kimball/White Lake won the JV match 2-0. The WiLdKats (14-3) will host Chamberlain on Tuesday in Kimball. Mitchell Christian (2-14) plays at Avon today.

Wagner 3, Tri-Valley 2

COLTON-Wagner downed Tri-Valley 3-2 in a prep volleyball match on Saturday in Colton. Set scores were 21-25, 25-21, 17-25, 25-20 and 15-3.

Faith Tyler had 14 kills and 22 digs for the Red Raiders. Abby Brunsing put down 13 kills. Sierra Juffer had 35 assists and Schylar Juffer had 22 digs. Carolyn Blaha added three blocks and Kayli Kocer had five aces.

For Tri-Valley, Chastnee Lamer had 17 kills.

Wagner (11-5) will host Tripp-Delmont/Armour today in Wagner. Tri-Valley (3-11) plays at Garretson today.
