AVON -- Class B No. 5 Bridgewater-Emery won a marathon fourth set to take down Avon on Thursday. Set scores were 25-17, 25-23, 18-25 and 29-27.

Bridgewater-Emery (14-1): Julia Weber stuffed the stat sheet with 22 kills, 16 digs, three aces and two blocks. Taylor Schallenkamp put down 15 kills. Kerrigan Schultz finished with 35 assists, 11 digs, five kills and three aces. Cara Meyer chipped in 17 digs and two aces. The Huskies play in the Chester tournament on Saturday.

Avon (8-4): Reese Powers dished out 19 assists to go with nine digs. Katie Gretschmann added a team-high 26 digs. Ali Sees finished with 13 kills and 12 digs. Tiffany Pelton added 14 kills and four blocks, while McKenna Kocmich recorded 20 assists, 12 digs and five aces. The Pirates host Centerville on Oct. 15.

ARMOUR -- Tripp-Delmont/Armour outlasted Sanborn Central/Woonsocket in a prep volleyball action on Thursday. Set scores were 25-19, 25-19, 15-25, 15-25 and 15-11.

Tripp-Delmont/Armour (7-7): Megan Reiner led the offense with 15 kills and three aces. Gracey Schatz and Faith Werkmeister followed with 11 kills apiece. Werkmeister add seven blocks. Hannah Stremick posted 21 assists, 16 digs and seven kills. Emma Fink posted 24 digs. The Nighthawks travel to Burke on Saturday.

Sanborn Central/Woonsocket (6-8): Trista White posted 13 kills and 21 digs. Morgan Schmiedt recorded 24 assists, 22 digs and three aces. Cassidy Slykhuis finished with eight kills, six digs, four aces and three blocks. Brooke Doering logged eight kills, six digs, four aces and three blocks. Teya Moody posted 19 digs and six assists. The Blackhawks travel to Howard on Monday.

Hanson 3, Mitchell Christian 1

ALEXANDRIA -- Hanson downed Mitchell Christian in four sets in prep volleyball action on Thursday. Set scores were 25-15, 22-25, 25-20 and 29-27.

Hanson (4-8): Grace Weber finished with eight kills, eight blocks, 19 digs and five aces. Abby Kortan added eight kills and 13 digs. Annalyse Weber posted seven kills, 10 digs and four aces. Shelby Hernandez recorded seven kills and seven digs. Andrea Thelen put down eight kills, while Jalyn Kampshoff had 28 assists and nine digs. Vanessa Doyle added 12 digs. The Beavers host Bridgewater-Emery on Monday.

Mitchell Christian (2-9): Kaitlyn Tegethoff recorded 17 kills, 11 digs, three aces and three blocks. Erica Thompson finished with eight kills, 22 assists, 14 digs and six aces. Maggie Reynen posted seven kills and eight digs. Whisper Eben contributed five kills and five digs. The Golden Eagles play Corsica-Stickney on Tuesday in Stickney.

Corsica-Stickney 3, Burke 1

BURKE -- Corsica-Stickney won the final two sets to take down Burke in four sets on Thursday. Set scores were 25-17, 24-26, 25-18 and 25-20.

Corsica-Stickney (12-2): Sutten Eide dished out 28 assists and 18 digs. Raven Barse had a team-high 26 digs to go with nine kills. Avery Broughton stuffed the stat sheet with 23 digs, nine kills, six blocks and three aces. Morgan Clites also served three aces, while Morgan Delange added 12 kills. The Jaguars play Mitchell Christian on Tuesday in Corsica.

Burke (7-7): Bobbi Jo Wischmann had 24 assists, 15 digs and seven kills. Adisyn Indahl put down 15 kills to go with 14 digs. Ramee Hanson and Sally Hakin both had 20 digs. Hanson also added 10 kills. Elle Johnson recorded 17 digs and Kailee Frank finished with 14 digs. The Cougars host Tripp-Delmont/Armour on Saturday.

PLATTE -- Platte-Geddes picked up a three-set win over Gregory on Thursday. Set scores were 25-11, 25-13 and 25-17.

Platte-Geddes (10-3): Karly VanDerWerff chipped in with 13 kills and 10 digs. Cadence VanZee finished with 11 kills and four digs. Avery DeVries added 28 assists, eight aces and four digs. Regan Hoffman posted 24 digs. The Black Panthers travel to Centerville on Monday.

MONTROSE -- McCook Central/Montrose earned a four-set win on Thursday over West Central. Set scores were 25-16, 25-19, 18-25 and 27-25.

McCook Central/Montrose (10-8): Maggie Miles finished with 18 digs and 16 assists, while Riley Morrison added a team-high 48 digs. Ashtyn Wobig recorded 21 digs, four blocks and three aces. Brianna Even chipped in 15 assists and four aces. Brandy Pulse put down a team-high nine kills in the win. The Fighting Cougars play Garretson on Tuesday in Salem.

West Central (6-8): Brooke Opitz dished out 22 assists and severed three aces. Jenna Lueth finished with 19 digs and three aces. Alaina Murphy added eight kills. The Trojans host Chester Area on Tuesday.

WESSINGTON SPRINGS -- Highmore-Harrold earned a road sweep over Wessington Springs on Thursday. Set scores were 25-13, 25-16 and 25-16.
