Area track and field roundup: Platte-Geddes girls claim home meet
PLATTE--Platte-Geddes bested the competition at its home meet on Friday. It won on the girls side with 134 team points, while tying with Bon Homme at 129 points for the boys team crown during the Platte-Geddes Relays.

Ally Holter led the Black Panthers by winning the 200-meter dash (27.59) and 400-meter run (1:01.73).
On the boys side, Bon Homme's Noah Heesch swept the hurdling events, winning the 110-meter hurdles (17.22) and 300-meter hurdles (43.72). For Chamberlain, Nash Hutmacher won the shot put (50-7.5) and discus (145-7).
SCW shines at Warbird Invite
MILLER-Sanborn Central/Woonsocket had a pair of winners at the Warbird Invite on Friday. Megan Poyer won the 200-meter dash in 28.99 seconds, while Trinity Boschee leaped 32 feet, 11 inches to take the triple jump.
For the SCW boys, Trey Ulmer won the 100-meter dash in 11.33 seconds, while also finishing second in the triple jump (35-6.25). Spens Schlicht captured first in the 300-meter hurdles (43.4), while Austin Schmit won the 200-meter dash (24.90). Sawyer Senska won the high jump with a leap of 5-10.
Fritz captures three events at Cecil Johnson Invite
PRESHO-Winner's Brady Fritz claimed three first-place finishes and one second-place finish at the Cecil Johnson Invitational on Thursday.
Fritz won the 100 (11.42), the 200 (23.75), the long jump (21-7.50) and took second in the triple jump (41-7). Teammate Joren Bruun claimed the triple jump with a leap of 41-8. In the long jump, Gregory's Zach Eklund took second (20-0.5) and Bruun finished third (20-0).
Chamberlain's Hutmacher was a double-winner in the shot put (47-11) and the discus throw (163-8). Mady Handel won the discus throw (120-6) and took second in the shot put (34-9).
Winner distance ace Sidda Schuyler won the mile in 5:43.78, while also finishing second in the two-mile in 12:25.81. Chamberlain's Allison Hough won the two-mile in 12:06.64.
Winner's Ellie Brozik claimed first in the triple jump (36-9.50) and finished third in the long jump (16-7). Chamberlain's Avany Long took second in both the 100 hurdles (17.44) and the long jump (16-11.50).
Winner's Kade Watson finished second in both the mile run (4:55.34) and two-mile run (11:23.26). Winner's Skyler Hansen took first in the 300 hurdles in 50.46 and finished third in the 100 hurdles in 17.54.
Gregory's Emma Thomas won the 800-meter run 2:31.78. Chamberlain's Drayton Priebe won the 300 hurdles in 45.42.
The Chamberlain girls relay team of Avany Long, Samantha Peppel, Leigha Long and Makenzie Sorensen set a new meet record in the 4x100-meter relay in 53.43 seconds.
