RAPID CITY -- Avon’s Courtney Sees posted a second-place finish in the long jump on Saturday at O’Harra Stadium. The freshman finished with a leap of 16-feet, 10 3/4 inches. Bon Homme’s Jenna Duffek captured eighth with a leap of 15-7. Colman-Egan’s Olivia Baumberger won the event (17-11 ½).
The girls 1,600-meter run was littered with area standouts, including Gregory’s Emma Thomas, Andes Central/Dakota Christian’s Isabella Brouwer, Burke’s Kailee Frank and Burke’s Hallie Person. Thomas took second in 5:23.29, while Brouwer finished third in 5:23.72. Frank (5:26.10) and Person (5:30.42) took fourth and sixth, respectively.

Thomas had another second-place finish in the 800-meter run in 2:25.60. Menno’s Morgan Edelman (2:27.28) and Brouwer (2:27.59) took third and fifth, respectively. Hanson’s Alyssa Moschell earned seventh with a time of 2:28.51.
In the 400-meter relay, Platte-Geddes’ Carly Reiser, Briana DeGroot, Kally Millar and Regan Hoffman placed fourth in :51.75. Howard’s Trinity Palmquist, Jayden Jaynes, Saddie Palmquist and Melanie Calmus took seventh in :52.86. Calmus also took second in the 200-meter dash in :26.83.
ACDC’s Josie Brouwer took eighth in the 400-meter dash in 1:02.47. Burke’s Piper Hanson placed sixth in the 300-meter hurdles (:49.40). Menno’s Jesse Munkvold took eighth in :50.02.
In the shot put, Menno’s Raygen Diede took second with a toss of 38-8. Scotland’s Makayla Friederich (37-7 ¾) and Delanie VanDriel (37-5 ½) took fourth and fifth, respectively.
In Class B boys, Freeman Academy/Marion’s quartet of Keaton Preheim, Gavin Haggerty, Quincy Blue and Thalen Schroeder won the sprint medley in 3:47.24. Canistota’s Tyce Ortman, William Ortman, Noah Kleinsasser and Josiah Schroeder took second in 3:47.72. Gregory’s Kade Stukel, Carson Klundt, Reece Odenbach and Luke Sinclair recorded a sixth-place finish in 3:49.63.
Canistota’s Josiah Schroeder and Freeman Academy/Marion’s Titus Roesler took fourth and fifth, respectively, in the 1,600-meter run. Schroeder clocked in at 4:38.72 and Roesler posted a time of 4:38.74.
In the boys 400-meter relay, Howard’s quartet of Lane Miller, Taiden Hoyer, Riley Genzlinger and Tisyn Spader took seventh in :45.33. Platte-Geddes’ Nathan Behrens, Aiden Bultje, Joey Foxley and Collin Engebretson finished eighth in :45.41.

In the 400-meter dash, Freeman’s Collin Helma captured the event in :49.43. Hanson’s Thailan Hallman and Isaac Crownover took second and fourth, respectively. Wessington Springs’ Dylan Schimke took eighth in :51.62. Helma added a third-place finish in the 200-meter dash (:23.33). Crownover placed seventh in :23.51.
Winner’s Watson captures pair of top-six finishes
SPEARFISH -- In Class A boys, Winner’s Kade Watson took fifth place in the 1,600-meter run in 4:33.08. Chamberlain’s Dominic Santiago took seventh in the event in 4:35.24. Watson also finished sixth in the 800-meter run in 2:01.52.
In the 400-meter dash, Ethan/Parkston’s Kolter Kramer (:52.11) and Chamberlain’s Hayden Evans (:52.13) finished seventh and eighth, respectively.
Berkeley Engelland, relay teams power Mount Vernon/Plankinton to third-place finish
In the 300-meter hurdles, Ethan/Parkston’s Cole Prunty posted a fourth-place finish in :40.10 seconds. Prunty added a fifth-place finish in the 200-meter dash (:22.46).
Chamberlain’s quartet of Drayton Priebe, C.J. Yost, Hayden Evans and Santiago took fourth in the sprint medley relay (3:46.06). Ethan/Parkston’s Cael Ryther, Parker Hanselman, Kramer and Ethan Poore took sixth in 3:46.54.

In Class A girls, Ethan/Parkston’s Ella Pollreisz captured seventh in the 1,600-meter run in 5:25.25. Chamberlain’s Kinsey Evans (5:26.82) was right behind in eighth.
In the 300-meter hurdles, McCook Central/Montrose’s Brandy Pulse captured third in :47.68 seconds.
Ethan/Parkston’s quartet of Ava Lingemann, Lauren Ziebart, Allison Ziebart and Lindsey Roth finished sixth in the medley in 4:26.93.

Tyler posts seventh-place finish in 400
STURGIS -- Lizzie Tyler earned a seventh-place finish in the 400-meter dash in 1:00.04 for the Mitchell girls only two points of the meet.
Mitchell’s quartet of Parker Phillips, Ryley Johansen, Treyson Schulz and Lukas Bennett logged a fifth-place finish in the 400-meter relay (:43.61).
