ALEXANDRIA - No. 2 Hanson blew past Kimball/White Lake 73-36 in high school girls basketball action on Thursday in Alexandria.

Kynedi Cheeseman scored 20 points and pulled down seven rebounds, while Hannah Marquardt added 14 points and Megan Guericke chipped in 11 points. The Beavers went 30-of-48 from the field for 62 percent shooting and 4-of-6 from the foul line.

Whitney Hinker led Kimball/White Lake with 14 points. The WiLdKats went 15-of-40 from the field for 37 percent shooting and 4-of-10 from the foul line. K/WL had 22 turnovers in the loss.

Hanson (12-3) plays Chamberlain on Saturday in Alexandria. Kimball/White Lake (6-7) plays Wolsey-Wessington on Monday in Wolsey.

Andes Central/Dakota Christian 65, Bon Homme 29

TYNDALL - Ahna Vander Pol's 23 points, seven rebounds and five steals propelled Andes Central/Dakota Christian over Bon Homme on Thursday night, 65-29 in girls high school basketball.

Kennedy Muckey tallied 14 points and a rebound for the Thunder. AC/DC shot 46 percent from the field and 72 percent from the line.

For Bon Homme, Sierra Mesman had 12 points, three assists and two steals in the loss. The Cavaliers shot 18 percent from the field and 45 percent from the foul line.

Andes Central/Dakota Christian (8-5) hosts Wagner on Thursday, while Bon Homme (1-11) plays Centerville in the Tri-Valley Conference Classic on Saturday.

AC/DC defeated Bon Homme in junior varsity action, 34-20.

GARRETSON - McCook Central/Montrose picked up a win in the Big East Tournament on Thursday night, defeating Baltic 46-19 in girls high school basketball.

Morgan Koepsell recorded 16 points and six rebounds, while Natalie Gottlob chipped in 11 points and 10 rebounds for a double-double. The Fighting Cougars shot 35 percent from the field and 82 percent from the line.

For Baltic, Maddie Polzin had eight points in the loss. Baltic shot 14 percent from the field and 50 percent from the line.

McCook Central/Montrose (10-2) hosts Chester Area tonight, while Baltic (3-10) plays Flandreau in the Big East Conference Tournament tonight in Salem.

Freeman 73, Canistota 38

FREEMAN - The Freeman Flyers soared to victory on Thursday night, defeating Canistota 73-38 as Erika Sage had 23 points and five rebounds in girls high school basketball.

Josie Fuhrmann tallied 10 points and four rebounds for Freeman, while Karli Maske and Taylor Hermsen added nine points apiece. The Flyers shot 49 percent from the field and 65 percent from the line.

For Canistota, Kalli Ortman recorded 15 points and six rebounds. Macy Robertson added six points in the loss. Canistota shot 31 percent from the field and 444 percent from the foul line.

Freeman (10-2) hosts St. Francis Indian on Saturday, while Canistota (5-7) visits Alcester-Hudson tonight in Alcester.

WOONSOCKET - Sanborn Central/Woonsocket controlled Wessington Springs on Thursday night in girls high school basketball, downing the Spartans 61-9 in Woonsocket.

The Blackhawks were led by Myah Selland with 18 points, nine rebounds and six assists. Tayla Weber added 11 points and six rebounds in the contest. SC/W shot 49 percent from the field and 17 percent from beyond the arc.

Chasity Vissia had three points for Wessington Springs in the loss. The Spartans shot 18 percent from the field and 13 percent from downtown.

The Blackhawks had five turnovers and the Spartans had 28 turnovers.

SC/W defeated the Spartans in junior varsity action, 48-7.

Sanborn Central/Woonsocket (9-4) visits Ethan on Monday, while Wessington Springs (3-10) hosts Iroquois on Tuesday night.

PRESHO - Lyman picked up a win on its home court on Thursday night in girls high school basketball action, defeating Highmore-Harrold 57-36 in Presho.

For Lyman, Haley Booth had 13 points and eight rebounds, while Shelby Schindler pitched in 11 points and six rebounds. The Raiders shot 22-of-36 from the field and 8-of-18 from the line.

For Highmore-Harrold, Rebecca Buchholz had 14 points and Halle Kroeplin recorded eight points in the loss.

Grace Leberman tallied nine points and 10 rebounds for Parker in the loss. Parker shot 23 percent from the field and 70 percent from the line.

Howard (6-6) plays Sioux Valley in the Big East Conference Tournament today in Garretson, while Parker (4-8) plays Garretson.

Chase Kortan recorded 19 points and Bryce Scieszinski chipped in 18 points and five rebounds for Bon Homme. The Cavaliers shot 33 percent from the field and 63 percent from the line.

Michael Maas had 20 points and eight rebounds for AC/DC, while Drew Veurink added eight points and 11 rebounds in the loss. The Thunder shot 40 percent from the field and 63 percent from the line.

Bon Homme (5-7) hosts Corsica-Stickney on Monday, while Andes Central/Dakota Christian (4-7) hosts Wagner on Thursday.

Chase Zephier added 16 points with four steals, three rebounds, an assist and a block, while Alex Sully tallied 14 points, four rebounds, two steals and an assist. The Red Raiders shot 24-of-62 from the field, 5-of-14 from beyond the arc and 17-of-26 from the line.

For Scotland, Tanner Skorepa tallied 10 points, three steals and eight rebounds. Travis Skorepa and Logon Fischer had nine points apiece in the loss. Scotland shot 18-of-41 from the field, 7-of-14 from downtown and 7-of-12 from the free throw line.

Wagner (3-8) visits Hartington Cedar Catholic, Neb. tonight, while Scotland (4-9) hosts Freeman on Monday.
