Area high school baseball roundup: McCook mounts rally over Garretson

McCook erased a 6-3 deficit with four runs in the fourth inning to secure a 7-6 prep baseball win over Garretson on Sunday.

SALEM -- McCook erased a 6-3 deficit with four runs in the fourth inning to secure a 7-6 prep baseball win over Garretson on Sunday.

Jackson Remmers finished with two hits and two RBIs in the win. Bobby Koepsell, Avery Feterl and Trey Claussen each produced a hit.

Gavin Gordon earned the win after pitching four relief innings. He finished with three strikeouts, two hits and no runs.

PGDCWLCS 12, STM 0

RAPID CITY -- Platte-Geddes/Dakota Christian/White Lake/Corsica-Stickney blanked St. Thomas More in prep baseball action on Sunday.

Nate Whalen, Jaylen Kemp, Grayson Hanson, Caden Foxley and Jackson Olsen each picked up hits. Kemp drove in two runs, while Whalen, Foxley, Kelby VanDerWerff and Kane Knudson each had a hit.

VanDerWerff started the first 4 1/3 innings, recording one strikeout, no runs and one hit.

PGDCWLCS 21, Lead-Deadwood 2

RAPID CITY -- Platte-Geddes/Dakota Christian/White Lake/Corsica-Stickney erupted for 10 runs in the third inning en route to a 19-run win over Lead-Deadwood on Sunday.

Nate Whalen paced the offense with two hits and three RBIs. Grayson Hanson, Caden Foxley and Jackson Olsen each had two hits. Foxley and Olsen both knocked in two runs apiece. Jaylen Kemp, Caden Oberbroekling, Aiden Bultje and Dawson Hoffman each had a hit.

Oberbroekling started the first two innings, finishing with five strikeouts, allowing no hits and no runs to earn the win.

Gregory County 17, Hot Springs 2

HOT SPRINGS -- Gregory County plated 17 runs through four innings to secure a high school baseball win over Hot Springs on Sunday.

Trey Murray powered the offense with four hits and four RBIs. Rylan Peck added three hits and three RBIs, while Kade Braun and Rhoss Oliver each had a hit. Oliver and Ben Witt recorded two RBIs apiece.

Dakota Valley 3, Hanson-Aurora 2

MOUNT VERNON -- Dakota Valley edged Hanson-Aurora in high school baseball action on Sunday.

Brady Fox had two hits, while Blaine Bohr, Kolby Kayser and Mason Hetland had two hits apiece. Zach Baker took the loss. He logged six strikeouts, allowed three hits and three earned runs in seven innings.
