Golfers accustomed to Lakeview Municipal Golf Course in Mitchell may be confused when they tee off on hole No. 7 this year.
The course added a new green, north from the old one, for players to aim at from now on.
Lakeview Director of Golf Dan Sabers said the change was made for several reasons.
"The old green was real steep and it was tough for pin placements," Sabers said. "We also wanted to move it away from green No. 4 for safety reasons and to make it more playable."
Sabers said the feedback about the change has been positive so far and added that he is interested to hear more feedback as tournaments are hosted by the course.

Lakeview is having a couple tournaments this weekend which will have a couple hundred golfers teeing off.
The course expects the biggest crowd of golfers this season to be at the Lakeview four-person scramble, which takes place Sunday, June 24.
Wild Oak cleaned up from hail,
ready for tournament play
After getting hit hard from the recent hailstorms that swept through the Mitchell area, Wild Oak Golf Course Director of Operations Cody Larson said the course is ready for play.
"It's all healed up now," he said. "You could still see some effects last weekend, but now they're pretty well gone."
Larson said the storm seemed to hit Wild Oak's area of Mitchell harder than other spots around town and it hurt what had been good business.
"We had a really good spring going and it slowed down play," he said. "It took a lot of hours and a lot of money to clean up."

Now the course is ready for the tournament season.
On Saturday, Wild Oak is hosting the Holly Rotert Tournament, a four-person scramble with a few spots still available.
Two other four-person scrambles are set for June with the Big Brothers/Big Sisters Golf for Kid's Sake event going on Friday, June 8, and the ninth annual Mitchell High School Wrestling Classic Scramble scheduled for Saturday, June 16.
Larson said teams can sign up for any of the events at the clubhouse.

Winner Country Club has opened a new clubhouse for the season.
The old 2,300-square-foot clubhouse was torn town before the new state-of-the-art 4,600-square-foot building was put up.
The new clubhouse includes a 20-foot bar and seating for around 100 people.

The course is set to show off the new clubhouse during the 27-hole Montoya Tournament Saturday, June 9. The event is for two-person teams.
Parkston Country Club will host its usual bar-sponsored tournaments this year as well as a tournament with a new host.
The Parkston Mudcats are set to host their first annual tournament at 9 a.m. July 14.
Organizers of the four-person best ball tournament are still coming up with ideas for the event, including the possibility of hitting a golf ball with a bat on the first hole for a chance at prizes.
Burke Golf Course is set to host its member/guest tournament June 16 as well as two open-to-the-public tournaments in July.
A men's four-man scramble is scheduled for July 15 while a two-person scramble is set for July 28.
The course will also host the Gregory County Cup Aug. 11.
Fish Lake Country Club in Plankinton has two tournaments on its schedule for June.

A two-woman best ball tournament will go on Thursday and a 27-hole scramble is set for June 10.
McCook Country Club in Salem has announced its Monte Carlo Open at the end of the month.
The open is a nine-hole, two-person scramble set for 3 p.m. June 30. Cost for the event is $35 per person.
Wessington Springs Country Club is excited for the annual Father's Day Best Ball tournament June 17.
The 18-hole tournament is a tradition among fathers and sons in the area and looks to be another success.
The Blue and Gold Tournament, which is a fundraiser for the school's athletic teams in Wessington Springs, is scheduled for July 14.
The event is a 27-hole, two-person scramble.
