Area football roundup: Parker blanks Menno/Marion

MENNO -- Class 9AA No. 3 Parker and Menno/Marion had a low-scoring affair on Monday, but the Pheasants were able to pull away for a 12-0 win.

Parker racked up 296 yards in the win, with Tanner Even rushing for 206 yards and two touchdowns on 30 carries. He also completed 5 of 9 passes for 24 yards. Mace Plucker recorded a team-high 11 tackles in the win, with Devin Fuller and Keaton Laible each having two tackles for loss.

Gavin Pankratz threw for 156 yards, but the Razorbacks were held to 161 yards. Austin Pillsbury caught five passes for 89 yards. Austin Kessler added 10 tackles and three tackles for loss, while Treyton Sayler finished with 10 tackles. Danny Cremer also intercepted a pass.

The Pheasants (4-0) play Viborg-Hurley on September 27 in Viborg. The Razorbacks (0-4) play Baltic on Friday in Menno.


Bon Homme 34, Parkston 6 in Tyndall: Class 9AA No. 1 Bon Homme led Parkston 12-6 at halftime, but were able to pull away in the second half to keep their perfect season alive. The Cavaliers (4-0) play Hanson on Friday in Alexandria. The Trojans (0-3) play Tripp-Delmont/Armour/Andes Central/Dakota Christian on Friday in Tripp.
