Area coaches earn volleyball awards

Two Mitchell area high school volleyball coaches were honored with coach of the year awards, given by the South Dakota Volleyball Coaches Association.

Mount Vernon/Plankinton's Darcy Deinert and Winner's Jaime Keiser earned the awards for Region 5 and Region 8.

Deinert led the Titans to the Class A state tournament for the first time since the co-op three years ago. MV/P finished fourth at state.

Keiser and the Warriors advanced to the Region 6A championship, where they fell to eventual state runner-up Miller.
