MARION - The Dakota Christian girls’ basketball team beat the Marion Bears 43-36 Saturday in Marion.
Brooklyn Vander Pol led the way for Dakota Christian with 17 points.
Kennedy Muckey chipped in with 10 rebounds, while Abbi Baan Hofman had eight rebounds for the Cadets.
Dakota Christian was 14-of-35 from the field and had 33 rebounds.
Marion was led by Devin Nelson, who had eight points. Erica Schoenwald and Briana Davis each added six rebounds.
Marion was 12-of-37 from the field.
DC (5-3) plays Tripp-Delmont/Armour Tuesday in Tripp, while Marion (1-6) plays Freeman Academy Tuesday in Freeman.

AVON - Kynedi Cheeseman scored 18 points to help the Hanson girls’ basketball team beat Avon 39-38 Saturday in overtime.
Tayah Waldera chipped in with four steals and two assists. Sarah Kayser added seven rebounds for Hanson, which grabbed 24 rebounds.
Hanson was 16-of-41 from the field and 5-of-17- from the free-throw line.
Avon was led by Chesney Nagel, who had 15 points, three assists and three steals.

WAKONDA - Freeman’s Erica Sage and Taylor Hermsen combined for 31 points as the Flyers beat Irene-Wakonda 55-52 in girls’ high school basketball action Saturday.
Sage had 17 points, while Hermsen added 14. Cailey Roth and Mady Pravecek each scored seven points in the win.
Haley Glanzer and Roth each grabbed seven rebounds for Freeman, which shot 21-of-53 from the field.
Irene-Wakonda was led by Amy Norman, who recorded 14 points. Makayla Mohr chipped in with 10 points. Irene-Wakonda was 21-of-59 from the field.

Shelby Selland led the way for SCW with 18 points and six rebounds. Rachel Selland added 13 points and six rebounds, while Myah Selland scored nine points.
The Blackhawks were 21-of-40 from the field and 7-of-15 from the free-throw line.
MVP was led by Megan Bultsma, who scored 10 points and grabbed 10 rebounds. The Titans were 14-of-46 from the field and 11-of-18 from the free-throw line.

Stevie Lone Dog led the way for Todd County with 17 points.
Callie Heath had a team-high six points for Colome. Elizabeth Duffy chipped in with five points for the Cowgirls, who are now 3-7.
Colome hosts Jones County Tuesday in Colome, while TC (8-2) hosts White River Tuesday in Mission.

CORSICA - Hope Menning had 23 points and eight rebounds to help the Corsica/Stickney girls’ basketball team beat Wagner 62-56 Saturday.
Micayla Bamberg added 16 points and 10 rebounds for Corsica/Stickney, while Dijana Muilenburg chipped in with 10 points.
The Jaguars was 21-of-44 from the field and 16-of-22 from the free-throw.
Wagner was 19-of-47 from field. The Red Raiders were Gina Soukup, who had 22 points and five points. Ali Kuca chipped with seven rebounds.

Gregory was led by Breina Leber and Allison Sundquist with six points apiece, while Courtney Opbroek added five rebounds for the Gorlllas.

Wagner scored 22 points and pulled down 16 rebounds, while Dawson Munger added 10 points for the Cubs. Brittany Goodlow contributed a team-high nine rebounds in the win.

Emily Reynen finished with eight points and eight rebounds, while Ashley Schmit and Abbie Reynen each grabbed seven rebounds in the win.
