PARKSTON -- Class B No. 1 Corsica-Stickney edged Mount Vernon/Plankinton 54-51 at the Parkston Classic in girls basketball action on Tuesday.

Corsica-Stickney (4-0): Avery Broughton paced the Jaguars with 16 points, 13 rebounds and six blocks. Raven Barse added 13 points and 10 boards. Rachel Gerlach finished with eight points and five assists. Corsica-Stickney plays Gayville-Volin on Jan. 6 in Gayville.

Mount Vernon/Plankinton (1-2): Hallie Schmidt finished with 12 points and six rebounds. Emilee Fox and Katlyn Briggs both put in 11 points. Fox dished out seven assists. The Titans play Sanborn Central/Woonsocket on Jan. 2 in Woonsocket.

Redfield 55, Canistota 45

PARKSTON -- Kailee Clausen poured in 23 points to power Redfield to a girls basketball win over Canistota at the Parkston Classic on Tuesday.

Redfield (2-1): Georgia Kuehn tossed in 10 points and Hannah Kuehn finished with eight points. The Pheasants play Hitchcock-Tulare on Jan. 4 in Tulare.

Canistota (0-3): Skylar Bultje scored 18 points. McKenzy Krinke finished with 10 points, five rebounds and four assists. Harley Cormany posted eight points, six rebounds and six steals. Canistota plays at Centerville on Jan. 3.

Hanson used a 17-2 second-quarter run to pull away from Avon in girls basketball action on Tuesday at the Corn Palace.

Hanson (2-1): Mekiah Campbell finished with 14 points and seven rebounds. Annalyse Weber tossed in 13 points and Morgan Huber dished out five assists. Hanson hosts Irene-Wakonda on Jan. 3 in Alexandria.

Avon (2-2): Madisyn Cameron led the way with 13 points. Shalayne Nagel stuffed the stat sheet with 11 points, seven steals, five rebounds and five assists. Avon hosts Alcester-Hudson on Jan. 3.

Boys basketball

Hanson 63, Kimball/White Lake 24

Hanson led Kimball/White Lake 16-2 after the first quarter and coasted to a boys basketball win on Tuesday at the Corn Palace.

Hanson (4-0): Reggie Slaba led the Beavers with 18 points and five steals. Riley Ferry posted 10 points, while Simon Weber recorded nine points, four steals and four assists. Hanson hosts Irene-Wakonda on Jan. 3 in Alexandria.

KWL (2-2): Justin Becker posted 11 points and five rebounds. KWL plays Lower Brule on Saturday at the Corn Palace during the Sacred Hoops Classic.
