ALEXANDRIA--Three players scored in double figures as Hanson pulled away from Howard 69-45 in the Region 4B boys basketball tournament on Tuesday. The Beavers play Sanborn Central/Woonsocket at 5 p.m. Friday at the Corn Palace.

Hanson (17-4): Riley Ferry paced the Beavers with 17 points and nine rebounds. Hayden Bahmuller added 15 points and Reggie Slaba put in 12 points.

Howard: Colton Spader scored nine points and Tisyn Spader added eight points. Howard finishes the season 7-15.

FORESTBURG-Noah Dickson recorded a double-double to pace Sanborn Central/Woonsocket to a Region 4B boys basketball victory over Elkton-Lake Benton on Tuesday. The Blackhawks will play Hanson at 5 p.m. Friday at the Corn Palace.

Sanborn Central/Woonsocket (13-8): Dickson scored 27 points and hauled in 16 rebounds. Trey Ulmer finished with 13 points and Tater Moody grabbed 10 rebounds.

Elkton-Lake Benton: Marcus Harming finished with 13 points. The Elks finish the season 11-10.

TYNDALL-A balanced scoring attack lifted Bon Homme past Wagner in Region 5A boys basketball action on Tuesday. The Cavaliers host Platte-Geddes on Friday in Tyndall.


Bon Homme (14-7): Josh Schmidt led the Cavaliers with 18 points and five rebounds. Nate Scieszinski added 14 pints, while Joey Slama registered 10 points, 11 rebounds and eight assists. Christian Uecker finished with nine points.

Wagner: Marcus Zephier finished with 16 points, while Dustin Honomichl added 12 points and seven rebounds. Jaden Peters scored 10 points. Wagner finishes the season 6-15.

TYNDALL-Parkston had three players score in double figures as it earned a Region 5A boys basketball win over McCook Central/Montrose on Tuesday. The Trojans play at Parker on Friday in the Region 5A semifinals.

Parkston (9-12): Nate Doering paced the Trojans with 17 points and 13 rebounds. Nathan Boettcher and Braden Bruening added 14 and 13 points, respectively. Bruening also pulled down six rebounds in the win.

McCook Central/Montrose: Koltan Lindstrom scored a team-high 16 points for the Fighting Cougars. Rylee Klinkhammer and Isaac McCormick both scored 11 points, while Klinkhammer also grabbed seven rebounds. The Fighting Cougars finish the season 9-12.

PLATTE-Platte-Geddes held off Mount Vernon/Plankinton in Region 5A boys basketball play on Tuesday. The Black Panthers play Bon Homme on Friday in Tyndall.

Platte-Geddes (13-8): Kade Starr finished with 14 points and five assists. Hayden Stluka tossed in 12 points. Caden Foxley added 10 points and eight rebounds. Kelby VanDerWerff recorded seven points and eight boards.

Mount Vernon/Plankinton: Kolby Kayser finished with 12 points, while Rylee Deinert tossed in 10 points. Brady Anderson and Weston Tobin both scored eight points apiece. The Titans finish the season 6-15.

McLaughlin: Lex Farrell scored a game-high 32 points. Elias Sims added 11. McLaughlin finishes the season 3-15.

St. Francis Indian: Caylen Clairmont scored 13 points and grabbed six rebounds for the Warriors. Devin Spotted War Bonnet and Chris Long both chipped in 10 points. The Warriors finish the season 7-13.
