CHAMBERLAIN — Corsica-Stickney scored 41 second-half points to pull away from Chamberlain and notch a 67-48 win in its season opener on Thursday night.
Corsica-Stickney (1-0): Avery Broughton posted 30 points, nine rebounds, four assists and a pair of steals, as Rachel Gerlach added 18 points and seven rebounds. Casey Tolsma chipped in 11 points for the Jaguars, who host Colome on Dec. 11.
Chamberlain (1-2): Jayna Handel scored a team-high 13 points and Mya Knippling contributed 11 for the Cubs. Kinsey Evans and Jayd Chmela each reached nine points. Chamberlain is at Todd County on Dec. 11.

FAULKTON — Wessington Springs scored 22 first-quarter points, but Faulkton Area responded with a extended 42-11 run across the second and third quarters to earn a season-opening win on Thursday night.

Faulkton Area (1-0): Layne Cotton racked up 18 points, nine rebounds and five assists, as Bennett Cassens and Hunter Niederbaumer each scored 12 points. Faulkton Area hosts Sunshine Bible Academy on Dec. 14.
Wessington Springs (0-1): Mason Schelske notched a double-double 13 points and 11 rebounds, both team highs. Anthony Neely scored 10 points and Cade Mohling had nine points to go with a team-high four assists. The Spartans are at Hitchcock-Tulare on Dec. 16.
