HURON -- Sanborn Central/Woonsocket scored 26 points in the fourth quarter to knock off previously unbeaten Lower Brule, 55-46, for a girls basketball win on Tuesday at the Huron Classic.

Sanborn Central/Woonsocket (3-2): Trista White scored 21 points and added three steals. Teya Moody recorded 12 points and five rebounds, while Trinity Boschee chipped in eight points and eight boards. Brooke Doering finished with nine points and six rebounds. Morgan Schmiedt pulled down seven rebounds. The Blackhawks play Bridgewater-Emery on Jan. 5 in Forestburg.

Lower Brule (2-1): Kharmon Wells and Caleigh Little both scored 12 points. Maddison Wells recorded nine points and six boards. The Sioux play Kimball/White Lake on Saturday at the Corn Palace.

HIGHMORE -- Highmore-Harrold notched a home win over Wessington Springs on Monday in girls basketball play.

Highmore-Harrold (5-0): Courtney Moser scored a team-high 17 points. Letha Jessen added 13 points, six rebounds and two blocks. Grace Knox chipped in 11 points. The Pirates play Stanley County on Jan. 5 in Fort Pierre.

Wessington Springs (0-6): Avery Orth had nine points and two steals. Alyssa Grohs and Harlee Heim both added six points, while Grohs also recorded six rebounds and three steals. The Spartans travel to Sunshine Bible Academy on Jan. 7.

HURON -- James Valley Christian earned its second win of the season as it topped Lyman at the Huron Classic on Tuesday in girls basketball action.

James Valley Christian (2-3): Karilyn Wieting scored a game-high 1 points to go with five steals. Brenna Held added nine points, seven rebounds and two steals. The Vikings play Estelline/Hendricks on Saturday in Estelline.

Lyman (1-5): Skyler Volmer finished with 16 points, six rebounds and three steals. Annie Brakke scored eight points, while Ireland Hyde grabbed seven rebounds. The Raiders play Timber Lake on Wednesday in Presho.
