The Royals led 3-1 heading into the top of the fourth when they loaded the bases with one out. Phillip Jorgensen walked to score the first run, but Jackson Kinzer cleared the bases on the next at-bat, launching a line drive to centerfield for a grand slam.
Kinzer finished the day by going 2-for-4 with five RBIs and a walk. The senior also tossed four innings on the mound, allowing one run on four hits, while striking out six. Joren Bruun picked up the win, surrendering four runs on four hits.
Jorgensen would add an RBI single in the fifth and Winner/Colome (2-0) scored on an error to shut the door. Oscar Pravecek started the scoring in the top of the first with an RBI single for the Royals.
The Royals are scheduled to play Chamberlain/Kimball/Lyman on Thursday in Chamberlain.
Beresford 10, Hanson/B-E/MVP 1
BERESFORD-Hanson/Bridgewater-Emery/Mount Vernon/Plankinton allowed four runs in the fourth inning, leading to a 10-1 loss to Beresford on Sunday.
Trailing 2-0 heading into the inning, the Ducks committed two errors, leading to a run. Beresford also scored on a sacrifice fly and an RBI single.
Beresford scored four more insurance runs in the bottom of the sixth to seal the game. The Ducks scored their lone run as Drew Ferry stole home in the fifth inning.
Hunter Pranger, Rylee Deinert and Tre Jones accounted for all three hits for the Ducks, while Craig Lasley took the loss on the mount, allowing two earned runs on six hits in four innings.
Hanson/B-E/MVP (0-3) is slated to face Bon Homme on Saturday in Tabor.
