WHITE LAKE - In a battle of two Pony Hills League unbeaten teams, Four Corners topped Kimball/White Lake 9-2 on Thursday in White Lake.

Adam Kaus pitched a complete game and picked up the win on the mound for Four Corners.

J.D. Farley went 3-for-3 with a double and Jason Overweg added a double and a single in the win for Four Corners.

For Kimball/White Lake, Brian Zeman took the loss, allowing nine runs in nine innings pitched. Wes Kroupa had two hits and a run scored, while Anthony Williams and Dylan Deckert each and RBI in the loss.

Four Corners (7-0 Pony Hills) plays Chamberlain on Sunday in Hayes, while Kimball/White Lake (6-1 Pony Hills) plays Miller in Miller.

Plankinton 7, Chamberlain 5

PLANKINTON - Chris Hill logged 11 strikeouts in relief for the Plankinton Bankers Thursday, who picked up a Pony Hills League win over Chamberlain 7-5.

Hill threw 7 2/3 innings in relief of starter Garth Minnick. Hill allowed four hits, two runs (one earned) and did not yield a walk. Trevor Salmonson had a 2-for-4 night with two RBIs. Kyle Bruinsma was 2-for-4 at the plate, scored two runs and stole a base.

Zach Zimprich pitched a complete game for the Mallards, throwing eight innings, allowing four hits, seven runs (two earned) and striking out five. He was 2-for-5 at the plate with a run scored and an RBI. Ryan Randall had two hits for Chamberlain as well. Chamberlain outhit Plankinton, 6-4 but committed five errors.

Plankinton (5-8, 4-3 Pony Hills) plays at Armour at 7 p.m. Sunday. Chamberlain plays at Four Corners (0-6 Pony Hills) on Sunday.

Mount Vernon 11, Platte 1 (8 innings)

PLATTE - Mount Vernon picked up a 11-1 Sunshine League amateur baseball victory over Platte on Thursday in Platte.

Deric Denning held the Killer Tomatoes to four hits, one unearned run and had eight strikeouts in eight innings pitched for Mount Vernon.

Eric Giblin went 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI, while Matt Larson went 3-for-5 with a double and three runs scored. Denning added three RBIs for the Mustangs.

For the Killer Tomatoes, Mike Buitenbos went 2-for-3 with a double, while Jared Meyerink and Richard Sternberg each added a hit in the loss.

Sternberg allowed six runs, two earned, off five hits in five innings pitched to take the loss for Platte.

Mount Vernon (7-6, 4-5 Sunshine) plays Mitchell on Sunday at 7 p.m. in Mount Vernon. Platte (1-7 Sunshine) plays Dimock-Emery at 8 p.m. on Thursday in Emery.

Alexandria 13, Dimock-Emery 5

ALEXANDRIA - Powered by a complete-game effort by Tyson Gau, the Alexandria Angels picked up a Sunshine League victory Thursday, defeating Dimock-Emery 13-5.

Gau allowed 10 hits, two earned runs and eight strikeouts. At the plate, Peyton Smith was 3-for-4 with 4 RBIs. Cole Wenande was 3-for-5 with two RBIs and Jarrod Zens was 2-for-2 with an RBI.

Jared Schmidt took the loss for the Raptors, throwing 5 1/3 innings, striking out six and allowing 12 hits. Schmidt was 2-for-5 at the plate and Phil Johnson was 3-for-4 with an RBI.

Alexandria (11-0, 10-0 Sunshine) plays Sunday against as part of a split doubleheader with Redfield and Dimock-Emery. The Angels will take on Redfield at 3:30 p.m., and Dimock-Emery (4-5 Sunshine) will take on Redfield at 5:30 p.m. in Alexandria.

Corsica-Stickney 5, Mitchell Mad Dogs 2

CORSICA - Allen Muilenburg picked up 13 strikeouts and held the Mitchell Mad Dogs in check Thursday night, as Corsica-Stickney grabbed a home Sunshine League win 5-2.

Muilenberg pitched 8 2/3 innings, allowing four hits, two runs (both unearned). Aaron Groeneweg was 4-for-5 at the plate to lead the Horned Frogs, driving in a run. Kris Menning was 2-for-4 with an RBI and Riley Stack was 3-for-4 with two runs driven in.

The Mad Dogs were kept off the board until the ninth inning, when Cody Hofer drove in a run for Mitchell. Tyson DeGroot and Marty Takagi each had hits for the Mad Dogs.

The Horned Frogs (5-5, 4-5 Sunshine) host Winner-Colome on Sunday. Mitchell (3-7, 1-7 Sunshine) is at Mount Vernon on Sunday.

Miller 7, South Central 2

MILLER - Miller picked up a road victory over South Central Thursday night in a 7-2 victory in Pony Hills League play.

Dave Jensen was 3-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored and Daniel Lagerhausen and Sam Simons each had two hits in the game. Simons scored two runs as well. Casey Schlechter threw a complete game to earn the victory, allowing six hits, two earned runs and striking out seven for the Outlaws.

South Central got a complete game effort from Dave Indahl, who allowed 10 hits, seven runs (five earned and struck out seven. Jason Frasch was 2-for-4 at the plate for the Storm and Willie Beckers knocked in two runs for South Central.

Miller (5-5, 2-3 Pony Hills) hosts Kimball/White Lake on Sunday, while the Storm (2-6, 2-5 Pony Hills) are at Pierre on Sunday.

Salem 6, Dell Rapids Mudcats 3

SALEM - The Salem Cubs outlasted the Dell Rapids Mudcats 6-3 in a Cornbelt League amateur baseball game on Thursday in Salem.

Garrison Collier pitched a complete game for the Cubs. Collier allowed three runs (two earned) off seven hits and had eight strikeouts.

Cole Cheeseman had two hits and two RBIs for Salem, while Chad Hunt and Luke Loudenberg each had a double. Greg Mehlbrech added two RBIs in the win.

Colin Karst took the loss for Dell Rapids.

Salem (4-3 Cornbelt) plays Humboldt/Hartford on Sunday in Humboldt. Dell Rapids Mudcats (5-2 Cornbelt) plays at Flandreau on Sunday.

Tabor 3, Lesterville 1

TABOR - Doug Vanacek put up 17 strikeouts Thursday night to help the Tabor Bluebirds earn a Czech Days over Lesterville in South Central League play.

No other stats were reported.

Tabor (5-3 SCL) will host Scotland on Sunday.

Menno 12, Scotland 1

SCOTLAND - Menno topped Scotland 12-1 in South Central League amateur baseball game on Thursday in Scotland.

No stats were reported.

Menno (5-3 SCL) plays Yankton on Thursday in Yankton. Scotland (0-7 SCL) plays at Tabor on Sunday.
