ABERDEEN-Parkston finished the Class A girls state golf tournament in fifth place on Tuesday after shooting a 373 in the final round.
The Trojans entered the final day at Lee Park Golf Course in third and were two strokes behind their opening round score and finished with a total of 744. Meanwhile, Hot Springs lowered its score by 19 strokes to move into third and Madison lowered its score by three strokes to take fourth.
West Central grabbed the state championship with a 703, 14 strokes ahead of second-place Sisseton. Winner placed seventh with a 777, while Chamberlain was 14th with a 846.
Wagner's Caitlyn Stimpson improved her score by three strokes in the final round, moving into ninth place with a two-round total of 171. Winner's Rylee Root carded a 173 to finish 10th, 20 strokes behind state champion Payson Birkeland, of Belle Fourche.
Parkston's Tylee Neugebauer tied for 18th with a 38-over-par 182, while teammates Ellie Wiedenbach and Hannah Jackson were both one stroke back to finish tied for 21st.
The top-25 finishers received all-state honors.
