Mitchell High School hosted its first trapshooting invitational on Sunday at the Mitchell Gun Club.

The Kernels scored 443 points to win the invite, followed by Winner/Colome (437), Platte (427) and Chamberlain (419). In total, seven schools were in attendance, with 87 students ranging from sixth to 12th grade shooting 100 clay targets.

Mitchell's Jonah Schmidt scored a 98 for the top scorer, while Winner/Colome's Katie Welker (96) and Platte's Jadon Peterson (95) finished in second and third, respectively. Winner/Collome's Luke Hennebold and Kordell Chamela, of Chamberlain both scored 94.

Faith Cobey, of Winner/Colome, was the high beginner female with 62 points. Mitchell's Hadley Schoenrock scored 84 to be the high beginner male. Platte had the high middle school female (Harper Kirch, 84) and male (Peterson, 95).
