AUSTIN, Tex.-Mitchell native Tevyn Waddell placed 27th in the 200-yard backstroke at the NCAA Division I Women's Swimming and Diving Championships on Saturday, which did not qualify her for the finals in the event.

The University of Minnesota junior finished with a time of 1:53.90 to complete her run in the meet after entering the race seeded 15th.

Waddell capped the four-day championship meet by earning All-American honors as a member of the 400 medley relay, while also grabbing honorable mention All-American accolades in the 200 medley relay and the 800 freestyle relay.

The Golden Gophers finished 11th overall in the team standings.
