HURON-The Mitchell High School gymnastics team edged rival Watertown to take the team title at the Huron Invitational on Friday. The Kernels finished with 146.400, while the Arrows were just behind with 146.200 points.
Mitchell's Maria Krall placed second in the all-around with 36.950 points, while Kaylee Bauder was third with a 36.900. Watertown's Myah Morris was the all-around winner with a 37.150.
Krall tied for second in the vault with Huron's Erica Zell as both recorded 9.200 points. Bauder captured third in bars with a 9.150. She also tied for third in the beam (9.250) and tied for second in the floor (9.500). Teammate Masy Mock also tied for third in the beam.
Krall, Bauder and Kyra Gropper all tied for second in the floor with Watertown's Brooke Bollinger (9.500).
The Kernels will compete at the Pierre Invitational today.
