DWU track and field open season in Brookings

BROOKINGS—The Dakota Wesleyan University track and field teams took part in the SDSU Holiday Invite on Friday and Saturday at the Sanford-Jackrabbit Athletic Complex.

The women took sixth in the 13-team field, thanks in part to Kamber Lamer's second-place finish in the pentathlon. She scored 3,400 points, which was 56 behind Minnesota's Ashley Ramacher. Her best finish came in long jump where her distance of 5.52 meters gave her second.

Samantha Schuyler notched a third-place finish in the mile run, too, finishing in 5:39.72.

On the men's side, Jared Rabenberg jumped two meters in the high jump to place sixth. Tyson Jenkins also earned sixth in shot put as he threw 16.21 meters.

DWU is back in action on Jan. 12 in Sioux Center, Iowa, at the Dordt College Open.
