Dakota Wesleyan University junior outside hitter Becky Frick was named to the all-Great Plains Athletic Conference's volleyball first team Wednesday.
Frick, of Yankton, led the team this season with 504 kills, 469 digs, and 20 aces. She finished second in the conference for total kills per set (4.5), and fifth nationally in the same category, while ranking seventh in total kills. She had a career-high 26 kills in a match against Friends (Kan.) and 29 digs against Presentation, with 20-plus kills in nine matches, and 20-plus digs seven times this year.
For her career, Frick has the fourth-most kills in school history with 1,210 and 1,015 digs after crossing the 1,000-kill/dig mark in both categories earlier this season. Frick is only the second Tiger to be named to the first team since 2002, joined by Lauren Tadlock in 2016 in the Lindsey Wilber era as coach.
Honorable mention selections included Wagner's Emily Brunsing and Norfolk, Nebraska product Bridgett Knobbe. Knobbe finished the season with 1,050 set assists and 247 digs, while Brunsing had a team-best 126 blocks (second-best in the GPAC) and 198 kills this season.
DWU finished the season with an overall record of 17-14.
