COLOME-Class 9B No. 2 Colome captured the Great Plains Conference title with a 70-8 win over Avon in prep football action on Friday.

The Cowboys racked up 431 total yards, including 273 on the ground. Jackson Kinzer powered the Cowboys with 136 passing yards and two touchdowns. Riley Shippy had six carries for 159 yards and two touchdowns. Chase Dufek, Jaikob Week, Adam Cole, Beau Bertram and Brayden Seegers each scored rushing touchdowns. Dufek added a receiving touchdown, while Layton Thieman also had a receiving touchdown.

Defensively, Nathaniel Hansen, Rhet Bertram, Cole and Week all had three tackles apiece. The Cowboys forced four Avon turnovers.

For Avon, Kory DeJong had 24 rushing yards and the lone touchdown. DeJong also had 46 rushing yards. Riley Rucktaeschel added 55 passing yards. Avon had 104 total yards. Max Mach finished with six total tackles.

Colome (8-0) will play in the Class 9B playoffs on Thursday. Avon finishes the season 1-7.

TYNDALL-Bon Homme used a monstrous 50 point first half to topple the Platte-Geddes Black Panthers Friday in Tyndall.

Joey Slama had a huge night for Bon Homme, scoring two touchdowns and running for 80 yards on five carries in the game.

Christian Uecker did the rest for the Cavaliers, connecting with Slama on a 70-yard touchdown pass and running for a 54-yard touchdown in the first quarter.

Bon Homme (7-1) will play in the Class 9AA playoffs on Thursday. Platte-Geddes finishes the season at 1-7.

ALCESTER- Rushing for 315 yards, Burke finished its regular season on a high note with a prep football road win at Alcester-Hudson.

For Burke, Finn Hanson ran for 163 yards on 17 carries and two touchdowns, while Jaden Frank ran for 50 yards. Brock Karbo ran for 36 yards and a touchdown and Ethan DeLong and Tarron Serr each ran for 33 yards in the game.

Eli Skoglund was 8-for-15 passing for the Cubs for 134 yards and two touchdowns, while rushing 12 times for 44 yards. Trevor Stene had 44 rushing yards and had 33 receiving yards, while Jadon Micke caught five passes for 80 yards and added 37 yards rushing. For the game, Burke had a 330-285 edge in total offense.

Burke (6-2) will start Class 9B playoffs on Thursday. Alcester-Hudson (6-2) will open Class 9A playoff action on Thursday in Alcester.

CORSICA-Corsica-Stickney held off Gayville-Volin in a tight Great Plains Conference football game Friday.

Caysen Eide ran for 157 yards on 17 carries and two touchdowns, while Blake Moke ran for 59 yards on 10 carries and threw for another 116 yards on 7-for-13 passing in the victory. Moke's touchdown pass to Jaden Barse with 11:51 left in the fourth quarter, put the Jaguars up by eight points and was the eventual game-winning score. Barse had four catches for 59 yards and ran for 33 yards on the ground. Eide led the defense with 13 tackles, while Devin Vanderham and Barse had nine stops.

Raiders quarterback Tristan Gustad was 10-for-22 passing for 178 yards and three touchdowns, all to Chase Huether, who had six catches for 124 yards. The last of the three scoring strikes was for 14 yards with 6:50 remaining, but a potential game-tying two-point conversion failed. Gustad had 76 yards rushing on 22 carries, as well. Jacob Hirsch had a game-high 18 tackles and an interception.

Corsica-Stickney (4-4) will open Class 9A playoff action on Thursday. Gayville-Volin wraps the regular season at 3-5.

Jamin Arend ran for 288 yards on 32 attempts for the Seahawks, while Brady Hawkins completed 4 of 5 passes for 82 yards. Jonah Hofer caught two of those passes for 44 yards. Hawkins also had nine tackles.

Parker Puetz threw for 194 yards on 10 of 19 passing for the Cossacks. Jaxton Schiller caught six passes for 129 yards and recorded 10 tackles on defense in the loss.

BEE (7-1) opens Class 11B playoff action on Thursday. Sioux Valley finishes the regular season at 4-4.

Plucker had a huge night for Parker, scoring four touchdowns and rushing for 164 yards in the win. The Pheasants produced 224 rushing yards in the game and kept Hanson scoreless on the defensive end.

SALEM-After a scoreless first quarter, Class 11A No. 4 West Central poured on 49 unanswered points to earn a road high school football victory Friday.

Jackson Miller ran 16 times for 76 yards and a touchdown for the Trojans, while throwing for a touchdown as well. Cooper Maras had two of West Central's five rushing touchdowns, as the Trojans ran 51 times for 282 yards as a team.

Jacobi Krouse had 30 yards rushing on 11 carries to pace the Fighting Cougars, who finished with minus-2 yards of total offense. Krouse, Jake Cheeseman, Tanner Peterson and Raygen Randall each finished with four tackles.

West Central (4-4) hosts Lennox on Thursday in its final regular season game. MCM finishes the season at 2-6.

The Warriors racked up 382 total yards, including 316 yards on the ground. Trevor Peters rushed for 162 yards on 12 carries and scored one touchdown. Sam Kruger added 71 yards on the ground and scored three rushing touchdowns. Brady Fritz threw for 66 yards, rushed for 21 yards and scored a rushing touchdown. Defensively, Preston Norrid had six tackles and Oscar Pravacek added five tackles. Joren Bruun had three tackles and one interception for the Warriors.

For Woonsocket/Wessington Springs/Sanborn Central, Alex Wormstadt finished with 53 rushing yards. The Blackhawks had 71 total yards. Trey Ulmer led the team with six tackles.

SCOTLAND-The Tripp-Delmont/Armour/Andes Central/Dakota Christian Nighthawks rode Jace Faulkner's big night behind center, as the quarterback threw for 216 yards and a touchdown, while running for 55 yards and a touchdown.

The Nighthawks produced 216 yards in the air, and 162 rushing yards in the win. Scotland's Lucas Pederson used his ground game to put the Highlanders on the board with a touchdown in the fourth quarter.

Tripp-Delmont/Armour/Andes Central/Dakota Christian (6-2) will start the Class 9AA playoffs on Thursday. Scotland finishes the season 2-6.

Canistota's Austin Thu strung together three touchdowns and 54 rushing yards in the game, but it wasn't enough to stop Garretson, which finished the regular season undefeated. The Pride had 277 yards of total offense, with 140 on the ground. Trey Ortman had 139 yards passing on 11-for-19 attempts. Statistics for Garretson were not available.
