CANISTOTA-Canistota cruised to a three-set victory over Howard on Thursday in Cornbelt Conference play, 25-19, 25-16 and 25-12.

Canistota (18-4): Cassidy Keller totaled 20 digs for Canistota, while Hannah Parry tossed out 31 assists. Noelle Hofer led the kill tally with 14, while Kenzie Kirby added eight and Jordan Engbrecht pitched in seven. Kirby also had 13 digs. The Hawks travel to Iroquois on Monday.

Howard (1-12): Aleya Kizer tallied nine digs, while Kyra Shumaker added six in defeat. Emma Rudebusch had five kills, as Austyn Smit finished with four. The Tigers host Sanborn Central/Woonsocket on Monday.

MVP 3, Chamberlain 0

PLANKINTON-Mount Vernon/Plankinton head coach Darcy Deinert won her 400th career match after a three-set win over Chamberlain on Thursday, 25-9, 25-18 and 25-14.

Mount Vernon/Plankinton (8-11): Shyla Tobin picked up 11 digs and four aces, while Katlyn Briggs tallied 11 kills and three blocks. Reagan Klooz dished up 18 assists and four kills. Dacey Rihanek chipped in two blocks. The Titans play Wagner on Monday in Mount Vernon.

Chamberlain (6-12): Hannah Anderson finished with seven kills and nine digs, as Avany Long tossed in 14 digs and Makenzie Sorensen tossed up five assists. The Cubs host Winner on Tuesday.

Avon 3, Bridgewater-Emery 2

AVON-Avon edged Bridgewater-Emery 3-2 in volleyball action Thursday in Avon. Set scores were 27-25, 25-22, 16-25, 16-25 and 15-10.

Avon (14-7): Lauren Sees had a team-high 27 digs, while Madisyn Cameron and Katie Gretschmann pitched in 26 digs apiece, Natalie Zacharias tossed in 21, and KaCee Zacharias added 18 digs. Cameron dished up 41 assists in the win. Zacharias tallied 17 kills and Sees had 10 kills for Avon. The Pirates host Centerville on Oct. 11.

Bridgewater-Emery (11-6): Kerrigan Schultz led BE in assists with 23, while Sophia Potter added 15. Joslyn Schrank tallied 25 digs, while Katelyn Kotas had 13 digs and 11 kills. Vanessa Hofer totaled 11 digs and Haley Schulz finished with 10 kills. The Huskies play Colman-Egan on Tuesday in Colman.

Burke 3, Corsica-Stickney 0

BURKE-Burke increased its win-streak to 13 matches after defeating Corsica-Stickney in three sets Thursday. Set scores were 25-11, 25-10 and 25-13.

Burke (19-5): Taylee Indahl finished with 15 kills, while Lahna Matucha added nine. Matucha led the dig tally with 15, as Indahl and Lainee Schonebaum tallied 14 digs apiece. Bobbi Jo Wischmann racked up 18 digs, and Haley Benter had 10. The Cougars host Tripp-Delmont/Armour on Saturday.

Corsica-Stickney (7-10): Bridget Burke and Raven Barse picked up 12 digs apiece, while Kassidy Clark added 10. Jenna Bamberg had a team-high four kills. Clark addid six assists in the loss.The Jaguars play Mitchell Christian on Tuesday in Stickney.

Platte-Geddes 3, Gregory 0

PLATTE-Platte-Geddes won its third match in a row after Thursday's Southeast South Dakota Conference win over Gregory in three sets, 25-22, 25-18 and 25-23.

Platte-Geddes (9-10): Tori Weins came up with 11 kills, three blocks and three digs in the win, while Sawyer Naasz added 11 kills and five digs. Courtney Neuman added 28 assists and two aces and Haley Hoffman pitched in 16 digs. The Black Panthers play Andes Central/Dakota Christian on Saturday in New Holland.

Gregory (11-8): Sydney Svatos had a strong outing in a losing effort, totaling 13 assists, 15 digs and two aces. Brooklyn VanDerWerff also pitched in 10 assists and 18 digs, while Megan Warnke had nine kills and two blocks and Addy Nelson added eight kills and two aces. The Gorillas host Colome on Tuesday.

Kimball/White Lake 3, Parkston 0

WHITE LAKE-Kimball/White Lake won its fifth consecutive match on Thursday with a home win over Parkston in three sets, 25-9, 25-13 and 25-10.

Kimball/White Lake (14-6): Heather Munsen led the way with 28 assists and 10 digs, while Grace Konechne had a stellar all-around match with 11 kills, 11 digs, four aces and two blocks. Kennedy Leiferman also had 16 kills, nine digs and three blocks and Darby Deffenbaugh pitched in 28 digs. The WiLdKats play Miller on Monday in Kimball.

Parkston (8-15): Izzy Hohn handed out eight assists and came up with four digs, while Tiah Holzbauer added a team-high 15 digs and Maggie Baumgart had three kills and two blocks. The Trojans travel to Wagner on Saturday.

ALEXANDRIA-Hanson picked up a three-set win over Mitchell Christian on Thursday in Alexandria. Set scores were 25-22, 25-18 and 25-12.

Hanson (9-12): Ellie Tuschen racked up 17 digs and six kills for the Beavers, while Jacy Waldera dished out 11 assists. Jada Tuttle had six digs. The Beavers host Menno on Tuesday in Alexandria.

Mitchell Christian (3-14): Maggie Reynen tallied 13 digs and three kills, while Erica Thompson picked up 11 digs and five assists. Sarah Morris had 18 digs and two aces, and Anna Cooper finished with four kills and two blocks. The Golden Eagles play Corsica Stickney on Tuesday in Corsica.

CENTERVILLE-Scotland picked up its third win of the season after defeating Centerville 3-0 on the road Thursday. Set scores were 25-19, 25-12 and 25-13.

Scotland (3-14): Delanie VanDriel racked up 14 kills, 10 digs, four blocks and four aces, while Kennedy Bietz tossed in eight digs, six kills and six aces. Brittney Bauder totaled nine kills, and Kelsi Nooney added 11. Rylee Conrad dished out 29 assists, and Bella Vitek pitched in nine kills. The Highlanders face Bon Homme on Tuesday in Tyndall.

MONTROSE-Class A No. 4 McCook Central Montrose took down West Central in four sets Thursday in Montrose. Set scores were 25-16, 22-25, 25-17 and 25-14.

MCM (18-3): Kenna Kranz finished with 15 kills and 12 digs, while Aleah Ries tallied 11 kills and nine digs. Jacy Pulse had 12 digs and eight kills, as Hope Bartman totaled 11 digs. Emily Bies racked up 40 assists. The Fighting Cougars host Garretson on Tuesday.

WC (7-6): Kali Nelson picked up 18 digs and 11 kills, while Haley Tobin dished out 30 digs for West Central. Lauryn Driscoll racked up 25 kills, and Morgan Schumacher had 15 assists in the win. The Trojans host Chester Area on Tuesday.

Highmore-Harrold (8-12): Sydney Marso had seven aces for the Pirates, while Halle Tvedt totaled 21 assists. Madison Bollweg led the team in kills with 12. Kassie Hale dished out 34 assists, and Taylor Chavez pitched in 14. The Pirates host Wolsey-Wessington on Tuesday in Highmore.

TRIPP-Sanborn Central/Woonsocket outlasted Tripp-Delmont/Armour on Thursday night to take a five-set match, 19-25, 25-21, 25-19, 23-25 and 15-12.

Sanborn Central/Woonsocket (14-6): Madi Moody had another big performance, doling out 41 assists and coming up with 22 digs, along with two aces in the win. Tesa Jensen also added 15 kills, 11 digs, seven aces and three blocks, while Erica Howard pitched in 14 kills and eight digs and Kaylee White had 19 digs, six kills, five digs and an ace. The Blackhawks play at Howard on Monday.

Tripp-Delmont/Armour (3-13): Mattilynn Reiner had 15 kills, 10 digs and three blocks. Bailey Spaans dished out 21 assists to go along with 11 digs and two aces. Ashlee Gerber added 10 digs, six kills, two blocks and two aces. Hannah Whitney recorded 18 digs. Kianna Payer finished with eight digs and four kills. The Nighthawks play at Burke on Saturday.
