The Mitchell High School softball team concluded its season with a home doubleheader against
No. 3 Harrisburg on Tuesday.
However, the Kernels dropped both games of the doubleheader, losing 5-1 in the first game, then 10-6 in the nightcap.
In the opener, Hannah Sibson, Tori Misiaszek and Jacey Linke accounted for Mitchell's three hits. Misiaszek also pitched a complete game, allowing five runs (four earned) on eight hits and striking out nine.
In the second game, Misiaszek drove in two runs and hit two doubles during her 2-for-4 day at the plate. Linke, who suffered the loss in the circle, also recorded two hits and drove in a pair of runs. Jordyn Cranny finished 2-for-3, as well.
The Kernels finished the regular season 7-15 but will play in the state tournament Friday and Saturday in Sioux Falls.
