ABERDEEN-The Dakota Wesleyan University men's soccer team recorded its first Great Plains Athletic Conference win of the season on Wednesday with a 4-1 victory on the road against Presentation.

Three different Tigers found the back of the net, starting with a goal by Julian Mole in the 30th minute to take a 1-0 lead. Oscar Molina scored to give DWU an added cushion heading into halftime up 2-0.

Less than five minutes into the second half, Presentation sliced the Tiger lead in half, but Sebastian Machado responded with a goal four minutes later to take a 3-1 lead. An own goal in the 78th minute padded the DWU advantage to 4-1.

Matthew Campbell made 11 saves in goal for Dakota Wesleyan (3-4, 1-1 GPAC), which travels to the University of Mary on Sunday.

Big second half gives DWU first GPAC win

ABERDEEN-The Dakota Wesleyan University women's soccer team also got its first GPAC win of the season on Wednesday at Presentation, thanks to a pair of quick goals in the second half in a 4-1 win.

Josephine Bardsley scored on a pass from Alexandria Jacobs in the 32nd minute to give DWU a 1-0 lead, but both teams played to a stalemate until halftime.

The Tigers were able to crack the game wide open as Alyssa Weidler and Marina Brightman scored 20 seconds apart to take a commanding 3-0 lead. Weidler later added another goal on an assist from Gemini Wesley, while Presentation scored late in the game.

Hannah Bowes made five saves between the pipes for Dakota Wesleyan (3-4, 1-1 GPAC). The Tigers play the College of Saint Mary on Saturday in Omaha, Nebraska.
