McPHERSON, Kan.-The Dakota Wesleyan University men's soccer team picked up a road win on Saturday against Central Christian College thanks to a first half goal by Pedro Lopez, which stood as the lone tally of a 1-0 game.
Julian Mole found Lopez for the goal in the 35th minute of the first half and never surrendered the lead. Matthew Campbell made seven saves to earn the shutout for the Tigers.
DWU (2-3) begins its Great Plains Athletic Conference schedule on Wednesday at Dordt College.
DWU women score four unanswered goals
McPHERSON, Kan.-Dakota Wesleyan fell behind to Central Christian College on Saturday thanks to a goal in the 28th minute, but the Tigers would come back to score four unanswered goals to win 4-1.
Ten minutes after the Central Christian goal, Alyssa Weidler tied the game for DWU and the two teams went into the locker room at halftime with the score 1-1.
Marina Brightman would then score 30 seconds into the second half for the Tigers and then Brightman struck again five minutes later, scoring on a pass from Gemini Wesley. Courtney Mascarenas eventually scored in the 72nd minute to seal the victory.
Cristal Villalvazo made five saves in goal for DWU (2-3), which plays at Dordt College on Wednesday to open its Great Plains Athletic Conference slate.
