Area baseball roundup: Scieszinski tosses no-hitter as Bon Homme/Scotland blank Vermillion

TABOR — Bryce Scieszinski pitched a no-hitter as Bon Homme/Scotland blanked Vermillion 6-0 in prep baseball action on Sunday in Tabor.

Scieszinski recorded 15 strikeouts without a walk in seven innings pitched. He threw 63 of his 83 pitches for strikes and scored a run. Christian Uecker went 2-for-3, while Tyler Kopp had a double and two RBIs.

Earlier on Sunday, BH/S topped Turner/Hutchinson 13-2. Uecker had a triple and three RBIs, while Tanner Van Driel had two doubles and two RBIs. Zach Cuka picked up the win, allowing no runs on two hits with five strikeouts in three innings pitched.

On Saturday, BH/S edged Wagner 1-0 in Tabor. Cole Bares scored the game's lone run in the bottom of the seventh inning. Scieszinski had a triple, while Van Driel had two hits. Uecker earned the win, allowing one hit with four strikeouts in 3 1/3 innings pitched.

For Wagner, Mato Perry had a hit.

Bon Homme/Scotland (6-3) plays Parkston today in Tabor.

McCook Central/Montrose 5, Tea 4

SALEM — Trey Anderson and Bryce Smart each had two hits as McCook Central/Montrose outlasted Tea 5-4 in prep baseball action.

MCM led 5-0 after five innings before Tea scored four runs in the top of the sixth inning. Kyle Tuschen earned the win on the mound, allowing four runs (two earned) off seven hits with four strikeouts in 5 1/3 innings pitched.

MCM (3-5) plays West Central on Wednesday in Salem.

St. Thomas More 10, Chamberlain/Kimball/Lyman 1

RAPID CITY — St. Thomas More downed Chamberlain/Kimball/Lyman 10-1 in a high school baseball game on Sunday in Rapid City.

Wyatt Talbott had two hits and an RBI for C/K/L, while Cole Hickey had a double and Kordel Chmela scored a run.

Caden Lenz took the loss, giving up eight runs on 11 hits with three strikeouts in four innings pitched.

C/K/L (3-8) plays Platte-Geddes/Dakota Christian/White Lake/Corsica-Stickney on Tuesday in Platte.
